      @@TheRudder Brooke, I can with some assurance identify one of the major puzzles for shoppers of small cabin class boats like me. There is a new hull design that has appeared in the last decade: plumb bow, sharp entry for wave penetration, two hull-side cut away channels for foam generation & reduced drag, and a full length keel. Axopar is one (among many) hugely popular examples of this. By contrast, the Beneteau/Merry Fisher hulls excel in accommodation functionality but their wide tulip-shaped bows & "bulging" waterline profiles provide inferior seakeeping qualities outside protected waters. Might you have boating friends who are running one of those new hull forms? A weekend adventure challenge - including protected waters and an "outside" run - of your 895 and one of those hulls would be fascinating! Just a thought...

      @@jacktyler7599 Good idea Jack. To be honest we spent a must of the time in protected waters as Brooke doesn't enjoy open ocean boating as much. We have had to complete with some fairly difficult water through storms etc. It does handle it well but we do get a fair amount of water on the windscreen as the hull doesn't have the big fly aways to remove the water. The MF are very popular in northern europe so maybe ask the question on one of the forums? Good idea for a video though. Thanks

      Do you think you're realistically sleeping 4 adults on a 695 or is the 795 the minimum for 2 couples to go out for an overnight?

    Great videos. Love the channel. For reference my wife is wondering how tall you are? We are considering the same boat. Thanks.

      Thanks Ken, Brooke is 165cm (5'5"). Hope that helps. Did you see the 695 vs 795 video? th-cam.com/video/xpILAwssMCM/w-d-xo.html I'm 6'2" and could easily sleep in that cabin. Happy boat shopping

    Love your reviews. Where do you put your trash? A trash bin? I'm looking at the 895 and wondering about the trash scenario and where are the power plugs. Thanks!!!

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have a very small bin that fits snuggly between the captain's chair and the raised wood that makes the sink the and cook top. We try and minimise rubbish on a trip but if we need multiple bags we stow the rubbish bags in the lazarette. If you look at this video th-cam.com/video/_sdgDiDcTK0/w-d-xo.html at around the 1min mark you can see the blue water bottle, our rubbish bin is just behind that.

    All good as long as you are “french size” person , roughly under 6feet . But what about us , big boys ?

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 6'2", basically I fit comfortably on all the beds but I think I'd want the entire space to myself. Being bigger I think sleeping two in the bow cabin would be a little cramped up. I don't think you'd be getting a 795 for longer trips staying at anchor but for a night or two I think it would work well.

      @@TheRudder thanks for the honesty. My wife and I often spend up to 5 nights living aboard our Whittley SL26 (24 feet) and the main cabin berth is pretty good but we sleep feet to the bow due to the sharp entry. I'm 6 feet and wifey is 5'9. The only downfall in the boat is the size of the main sleeping accommodation, everything else is dam close to perfect.

    And you are how tall? looks unachievable for 6 foot plus ?? do love the boat though x

    • @TheRudder
      @TheRudder  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I'm Brookes other half, I'm 6'2", you can sleep in that in a pinch. Not super comfortable but doable.
