I might buy it just for the cable. You're re second reviewer who mentioned it. Mark from super reviews bought a few just so he could use the cable for other pairs. Truthears should consider selling them separately.
I have a pair of Holas with the microphone version of that cable. Unfortunately they're broken (cable connectors snapped and one of them was cut clean into the left earphone, completely non removable) but back when I was using them for calls or games even sometimes, I got comments on how clear my audio quality was. For reference I have a Logitech G Pro X for my home computer and that's what I use when gaming with my mates, so imagine my shock when I joined one day using the Hola as a test and they said my mic quality was better than the boom mic style, Blue Yeti software Logitech one. Goes to show how high quality that mic with the cable is. Seriously, I recommend anybody who wants to get the Gate to throw in the mic version of the cable, it's damn impressive. I've since bought the Tripowin Zombur, which is a very cheap cable with a mic, and that mic's quality is on par with my smartphone's, not impressive to say the least. This cable is a rare gem for low budget iems, they should definitely start selling it separately.
David, as usual, you have provided a very professional review of a pair of earphones that almost anyone can afford (they are definitely more affordable than the Campfire earphones I got today).
are they relaxed like hola? I really like hola and am really addicted to it, so i dont want any treble painful iems for my next upgrade under budget segment. So can i go for GATe?
Ear pieces are uncomfortable after a while, I honestly felt like my same priced pink headphones from Amazon sounded better. I have a dac, should I just crank up the bass?
I had the Waner, waner is more bassy tuned then highs. The highs sound a little "tss" sounding, a little muffled. The gate should be a bit more focused on the highs which should be good for everything sounding clear. Althought that means deep bassy sounds would be a little light lol
Forget cable or whatever except for the pure audio standpoint for movies, video editing, and some games here and there, should I get the Gate or KZ D-Fi?
Hi, I'm trying to decide between the Nuo and the Gate for male & female vocals. Any advice you can give me in that regard? I like clear and accurate vocals and am curious if you can recommend one over the other?
@@PrimeAudioReviews Thanks! Appreciate the advice. I ended up ordering both, and I can confirm, the Gate does sound a bit dry and almost "grainy" if that's a word. It's just okay, in my opinion.
@@PrimeAudioReviews thanks for the suggestion. I might just buy the Nuo, it seems to be better than the Gate. I have two questions though. Will the Nuo cause problems if I am sensitive to higher frequencies? And is it good for rock and metal songs?
@@PrimeAudioReviews Thanks....I asked this because people say that its cable becomes hard over time And also any budget IEM recommendations under 20$ with good build quality and a nice cable?
@@cursedpixelthat is the case indeed It feels more "stiffy" after a long time But again at that price point you aren't getting anything better other than the truthear cable
No. It's a sidegrade at best but it has inferior treble timbre. Edit: just realised you said Zero 2 - if you want less warmth and body it might work for you but still a sidegrade.

Yeah, it's pretty slick!
Nice review. I wished it was still Hola's shells. That cable is legendary at $20.

The CAs are in a different league in both cost and audio quality. :)
Just got a pair of Kefine Delci and I found them to be truly OUTSTANDING, considering the low price (I paid the equivalent of AUD$69).
Right? Delci is amazing.
Can I eq it to make it a bit more airy and enhance the treble?
Hi, im thinking of upgrading from blon 03, and considering between Moondrop Chu 2 and Truthear gate, which one do you recommend?
The Chu 2 is closer to the 03 - the Gate is rather lean and dry in comparison.
are they relaxed like hola? I really like hola and am really addicted to it, so i dont want any treble painful iems for my next upgrade under budget segment. So can i go for GATe?
If you currently use HOLA, this is not in any way a reasonable upgrade. You should step up on the prince range, like a truthear zero red.
Ear pieces are uncomfortable after a while, I honestly felt like my same priced pink headphones from Amazon sounded better. I have a dac, should I just crank up the bass?
That might work or you could just get different IEMs with a warmer tuning like the Moondrop Chu 2.
Tangzu Waner or Truthear gate.. Which will be great for listening to non bassy indie songs? Which of these are best for pure audio quality?
Truthear Gate is more "neutral"

How is the comparison to tangzu wa'ner?

For pure audio I prefer the D-Fi

Nuo wins. The Gate sounds dry and stale in comparison.

Which is best for classical music under 20$ : truthear gate vs salnotes zero vs tangzu wan'er?
They're all good choices- too similar to pick a winner so get the one you think looks/will fit best.
How do you compare this to Moondrop Chu 2?
Chu 2 sounds more natural and has better treble timbre.

Not much of a difference
