Idk why I go to so many tutorials and when everybody hates it, it worked great for me, and whenever everybody loves it, none of it worked for me

Apparently, there is a problem with the driver from your audio device. Outdated drivers most of the times prohibits the device to work.
After following the instructions here, my maximum volume is near zero.

I did manage to fix my low volume... I happened to see my Volume Level bar, it was at MINIMUM... so I turned it up, problem solved, I feel like such a dope...@@FlorinBuda

It said it didn't find an issue, though more videos on youtube than usual have low volume levels since I upgraded to Windows 11. See, that's why I hesitated to upgrade. There are always some issues that will emerge. Guess I'll have to use my headphones most of the time from now on, then it's at least easier to hear and understand what's being said.

I have low sound problems in TH-cam an other apps on my Windows 11 Acer Aspire laptop using RealTek audio device. The sound is often very low. Some TH-cam videos have OK sound but others have not - it is way to low. I have of course set the sound properly - 100 % in the app and 30% in the volume control which for sure should be enough. But it is not. Not even if I set the volume control to 100%.
Actually, for the same video, the sound is a lot higher on my cheap smartphone than it is on the laptop. Incredible.
If I perform a sound check using the Windows 11 sound settings, the sound is fantastic, i.e. the hardware is ok. But TH-cam and other apps don't make use my fine speakers. I bought a well working laptop with fair speakers, but Windows 11 (or Acer?) makes the speakers poor. That is not ok.
I have owned laptops for 25 years and I have never had any sound problems - everything has worked well right from the start. To check various settings and drivers should not be needed at all.
I am pretty sure this is a known issue and I would like to know what the real problem is.

@@easylearningwithisrat2023 No, unfortunately. I still have the problem on applications that play videos.
I am not sure, but I am guessing that Windows 11 does not magnify the sound of videos that have been recorded with low volume. On my cheap android smartphone, I can click the settings icon on the TH-cam video and then click more settings/stable sound. Then the sound on the smartphone is OK. However, I have not found any similar function on windows 11. If you find it, then please let me know.
I am pretty sure that Microsoft knows what it is all about and I would really like to know.
I have never had any problems on any of my previous laptops and I have never had to change any setting...
@@easylearningwithisrat2023Issue is now solved, at least in TH-cam. The "stable sound" setting for smartphones that I wrote about in my previous reply has been added also to laptops and the sound is now ok. I have not checked if the sound is ok for other applications as well, but so far so good.
Thanks for the insultingly obvious suggestions. I felt kind of silly checking sound settings I know I didn't change them and settings don't just change all itself. The only thing that changed is I installed Windows 11 and now my sound volume is feeble.
Installed ScreenStyle to customize desktop, it installed rocketdock too without warning. Suddenly my audio was very low. Disinstalled both of them and restarted window audio service, as seen in this video. It works, thank god! It needs a system restart to work. Hope it helps someone
I've spent days doing every recommendation there is, and I still can barely hear sound from Windows 11. I've gotten to the point where i match up the minutes and seconds of a video on my phone (for the audio of it) with the same on my PC (for the video). So lame, but I have found no alternative except to revive my 9 year old Windows 10 PC - which is what I will probably do.
If nothing worked on fixing sound volume get a rechargeable head phone amplifier for use with headphone you plug in the amplifier and the amplifier you plug into the audio out of the laptop bth using mini phone plugs.
My problem was easier than all this, I have a new monitor and had my audio routed from my monitor to my speakers. The monitor doesn't output as well as my old one, so I plugged the audio cable to the back of my PC instead. WAY louder.

I eventually did something in device manager, swapped the driver to a different one that was already on my laptop (I've totally forgotten what was suggested in this video though, and don't have time to check atm). It seemed to be better at least for a while. I think at some point it went low again so I repeated that. Seemed like it would or might mess up the driver I'd used when there was a Windows update. Currently I sometimes think/ wonder if the volume has lowered again slightly when I'm watching something on TH-cam but then the next minute it's normal again. Weird.

the actual cause is windows 11 sound is garbage. the very second you upgrade from windows 10 your sound drops down to nothing. and no you should not have to crank up the volume to fix it. any idiot saying that has no idea what hes talking about. until windows 12 comes out i would say get a sound blaster card. ive got a 5.1 surround set and as soon as i install W 11 i only get 2 speakers working.

Ditch Windows 11, which is complete garbage. Everybody that help develop it deserves to never work in software engineering again. It's a bigger embarrassment than Windows Vista, 8, or 8.1 and has useless gen z written all over it.
