- Today's Raag: Hamsanandi
Hamsanandi (pronounced as Hamsaanandhi) is the 53rd Melakarta ragam, a janya of Gamanashrama. The raag puts the listener almost instantly in a meditative state and evokes concentration.
Medically, the raag heals acidity and helps to maintain a stable state of mind.

The raag's simple notes are arranged in a peculiar way which makes it easy for a layman to understand the yearning emotion that the raag evokes when listened or practiced.
