Brian and his Big Band are absolutely the best on the planet. He has brought back an era and a sound that is inspiring for all musicians. I can't wait to see him and his band in person again!
His Christmas concerts are AWESOME. I've been to one in Detroit and thoroughly enjoyed it. I NEED to pick up one of those guitars (Gretsch) one of these days and learn some rockabilly.

+Michael Ellery I don't agree. There are so many brilliant guitar players, all capable of performing at this level. Brian is very good, but certainly no better than (IMO not even as good as) other great players like Zakk Wylde, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Jeff Beck, Slash, etc, etc...
Setzer's better IMO. How many artists can truly say they single handedly revived 2 genres? How many other bands front a 17 piece orchestra with an electric guitar? Setzer's probably the most underrated and underappreciated guitarist. It's a shame he's not in the hall already
I read somewhere in a respected guitar magazine back in the 90's that Dave Mustaine from Megadeth was publicly feuding with Brian Setzer. The reason? It was because Marty Friedman was getting guitar lessons from Brian Setzer WHILE he was in Megadeth and he proudly mentioned it in an article. For whatever reason Dave Mustaine got all pissed off and put Marty down about it. Dave publicly called Brian Setzer a "Hair Farmer" over the whole matter. Apparently, Brian Setzer has given guitar lessons to some really big names out there. So, an incredibly great guitar shredder like Marty Friedman taking lessons from Brian Setzer and being proud about it makes sense to me. "Hair Farmer"?? Coming from DAve Mustaine.
