    What people don’t understand is no matter how fat the line, you always cut the side the square was on,that line could be a half inch wide it would not make any difference because you’re only going to cut on one side. That is your straight side. By the way I use Pica as well. Also I have seen several videos on Pica and I believe this to be the best.

    The big advantage with the Pica is not having to pause to whittle and not dealing with broken tips all the time. One lead lasts a long time, longer than one wood pencil for sure.

    Just a thought, I have one of these and you don’t need to press so hard. Pressing hard just wears the tip faster and leaves a line 5 times what it should be. Light pressure is all that’s needed. 👍

    I am a industrial electromechanic. We fix all sorts of machinery at steel mills or nuclear plants, refineries. Whatever.
    Expert area is electric motors and drives, we revise and repair em. Even to the point of rewinding em by hand.
    We also sell and service them, align them and maintain other gear.
    I have the pica dry the deephole marker and the pica “gel”.
    The dry needs no introduction great pencil, usable on lots of materials, tough, resistant to oils and greases, nice rough texture but easy to wipe down after a day in the dirt and grime. Deephole marker is great for when we have to make gaskets ourselves for reduction cases or pumps. You can really get nice and deep in the hole to the edges and around the part up close with its fine point. Then You cut out the gasket and see if it fits. Great tool! Better than a marker or a Bic pen lol.
    The Pica gel is a replacement to tube paint. It marks on EVERYTHING and doesn’t go off. I use it to put markings on parts to make sure they are oriented correctly upon assembly. It gets pressure washed and we even tried it in the burner.
    We have a burner that burns the corpses (the dead motors that are either scrapped or rewound, they get heated to 850°C.) So the insulation and tropicalisation varnish gets out. That we use hacksaws to remove the old burnt windings (copper is recycled) and make new windings if the customer demands so.
    They say the markings last to 1400°C, I tested them at 850 and they did fine 😂
    Sadly its non-refillable I think, there is a sharpener built into it to get the point back. I guess they should put it on the Visor as well.
    TLDR: great products, usable for heavy indsutry, metal working, carpentry even the home gamers. robust, practical, affordable and easy to identify due to the different sheath colors!!

    • @golfclash2035
      @golfclash2035 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re more likely to be able to find your cheap pencil because you had dozens of them. This is way to expensive and unnecessary. I’ve never had a situation where a weird surface got in the way of a cut except certain tiles use a cheap China marker it’s not great but it work and it ain’t 12 bucks with a pack of led at 13 bucks. Bought and returned.

    • @BCGT_Mikee_Dredd
      @BCGT_Mikee_Dredd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@golfclash2035 I didn't have a lot of choice to be fair, I tried my daughter's stationary, crayons etc but nothing worked where I could still see the line whilst using a wet saw.
      Another problem was that the water becomes cloudy after 30secs so the line was too difficult to see.
      I might have paid over the odds but I did a mint job on the cuts in the end, too much of a good job like I had OCD 😄
      At least I won't have to use too much sealant around the edges now.

    With most carpenter pencils their made for the purpose of using the pencil as a gaping tool, 1/4”and 1/2” width. Also there are different ways to sharpen a wood carpenter pencil for different application. How does this pica pencil have these same function? I would say for a breaking purposes it might be a better pencil but for the over all aspects of the different ways a carpenter pencil can be used for, I don’t see the functionality that a pica pencil can match up to!

    After 11 min you still didn't mention the biggest problem with the basic carpenter pencil. Why buy a Pica, one word SHARPENING!!!!!!!!!! I'm so blanking sick of trying to sharpen a carpenter pencil, it never comes out right, time consuming, cant find knife, knife is dull when I do find it and then pencil shortening...... Critics layouts require sharp pencils and with carpenter pencils it's a pain in the - - -.....
