@ it’s funny, because I was initially going to mention that I have never worked in an office, but worked in a convenience store for a few few years as a kid. I suppose I should have considered my bias before chiming in. Haha.

You would’ve been great at writing those little blurbs about movies in newspapers. That is as succinct and accurate analysis of this movie as is possible.
I totally agree. He's one of those actors that you want to "spend time with" any time they release something new. Just seems like a genuinely cool, laid-back person. That is all a complete assumption by an internet stranger, but that's the way he comes off to me
This guy plays the perfect mope. Perfect in the sense that his mopy behavior is triggered by legitimate frustrations rather than being sad and self obsessed. Loudermilk was such an awesome show, as was his performance in Band of Brothers.
Judge summed up US race relations in about 10 seconds in the scene where Michael Bolton is listening to gangsta rap but turns down the music and locks his door when a black man walks by.
@@dougfromsoanierana Very familiar, I want to see Rage Against the Machine when they perform in Oakland, California next year, but I must admit, I'm a little afraid to go...
I worked at a video store when Office Space came out on video cassette. I pushed that movie to so many customers in this little rural area. 99% of the customers loved the film and it opened their eyes to other smaller films for us to recommend.
This guy was great in Loudermilk too. Carried the show (along with the actress who played Claire, she’s great too) and it’s a shame it never got a real ending. Maybe one day 🤞
I get your point, but I don't think he did. He continued to be an under-the-radar creator, which meant he could have more creative control than most. Meanwhile, his movies (especially OS) will forever be adored by the very people he made them for.
@@thefuturist8864 No, he did. After creating huge hits in TV they gave him next to no promotion for his films that became cult classics. He had creative control but no budget, no promotion. It's great they they are adored, but they could have been much bigger hits and better films even. How many hits does this guy have to make before they give him respect?
No actor could make me happier by getting paychecks for Hallmark movies and NCIS: Norfolk than Ron Livingston. He definitely deserved a 50yr career as a character actor and comedy insert.
The 90s and early 20s were THE TIMES for comedies. Dumb and Dumber, Theres Something About Mary, Big Lebowski, Office Space, Old School, Anchorman, Cable Guy, Austin Powers, Superbad. What a time. So many laughs.
Sooooo glad they chose Ron for this. The majority of actors would have overplayed this character for laughs and it would have died. Love his melancholy approach.
so funny to see them talking about their movies playing on comedy central because that’s how I know both movies after watching them tons of times after school
Was this the first movie to be mainly located at an office? I remembered thinking working in an office is really boring how could they make an entertaining movie about something in your leisure time trying to forget. But it ended up being an untaped subject that people could connect to. Paved the way for the wildly popular tv show The Office.
I was actually doing some computer training yesterday at work and they made an Office Space joke that made me lol to myself. That movie still fucks. Two chicks at the same time.
What really chaps my ass is that we joked and made fun of the corporate way of life back in the 90s because we knew how inhuman it actually was back then and we STILL let the corporations take us over anyway.
Be lucky. Be rich. Be popular. Be tall. Be handsome (or a PAWG). Be all of those at the correct moment, in front of the right rich & powerful people. #EASY 💪😎✌️
I often wonder how many great movies were never made because of terrible Hollywood executives canceling projects. It’s in the hundreds, if not thousands.
The classic example of why RTO for Elon is understandable vs RTO for most any other dumbass company led by some self-important CEO pulling $25m a year. What a joke.
Exactly, it’s not an interview, it’s a real conversation where Neal doesn’t derail Ron’s train of thought with inane questions that deflate everything. So many interviewers just blow.
Yeah I feel like his question could’ve been phrased a little better like what’s it like for a character actor to get bumped to being the main star of a movie but they did get into it a bit. Ron isn’t a movie star but he’s just straight up a really good actor, dude elevates anything he’s in.
Ron and Judge perfectly actualized a part of life that no other movie in all of cinema captures.
Clerks did it just as well.
@ oh I love clerks. I’m more referring to office minutiae and that specific lens

Ron Livingston is criminally underappreciated.
Made a really unlikable guy sympathetic in Band of Brothers
He's like the everyman of Generation X. Loved him in Office Space and Loudermilk.
Love Ron. he just has it. Band of Brothers, Office Space.... He is it, the mood and moment.
He is perfect in Loudermilk

Loudermilk was so good and I can't imagine anyone else playing that role! Ron plays a miserable dickhead better than anyone.
Best movie. The printer scene is every person who's ever worked in an office's wet dream
One of the greatest roles ever played! He nailed it! "The Office" perfect for the era....the office, the copy machine, the boss, etc.
I wonder how it feels for Ron to live rent free in every IT professional’s head
Probably pretty normal because he doesn’t pay his bills.
Not just IT
I lived in Austin in from 97-2002 during the peak of Silicon Hills, the opening scene in the traffic jam was so real it haunts me to this day.

Ron Livingston always struck me as a true Guy ... No scandal, just well acted Rolls and decades of entertainment.
Mike Judge got a raw deal with his movies like Office Space and Idiocracy.
they should be begging him to make more movies. He's a real visionary and always comes up with something unique and solid.

Ron Livingston wasn't just good in it. He was Great! His chemistry with every character was spot on. Especially Jennifer Aniston.
I still wear just the minimum amount of flare
Be Yourself is ironic advise for an actor
I didn't see Office Space in the theatre but I bought the DVD and later, the BluRay. Worth every penny.
Ron looks effin great!
Please bring back Loudermilk
Such a great show
Yes!
Half Baked, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore and Office Space are all movies that my friends and I saw on opening night.
This was a fascinating interview and I'm not even an actor. Thanks for posting this!
One of the BEST comedic movies of all time imo.
🤣🤣🤣
Office Space is a classic!!!
6:44 this should be a shorter clip in addition. Those are great tips for anyone in almost any situation. 👏
Love that movie so much. Too bad ron never became super mega famous. I always thought he was really cool. Loved loudermilk as well. Great series.
He was awesome in band of brothers
I watched it in theaters with my friends, nice and stoned when I was 15.
I showed Office Space to my team at work, once our company started doing layoffs back in the ‘00s.
I absolutely loved Ron's show, Defying Gravity. I was so disappointed when treat was canceled.
He could come back we need him
Lol someone has to direct those Lowe's commercials?
He was great in Band of Brothers helping to highlight the absurdity of war

proud to say i saw office space in theaters in 1999 and i LOVED it. And i was a young girl. so not even the audience it was aimed at.

He should talk about Justin Beiber getting him kicked out of the Halo Reach launch party.
His best roles Peter, Burger, and loudermilk

I remember the movie being sold with the red stapler :)
Is Your Son Ron Livingston? Ron Livingston! Thank You!
Clips were shown at almost every corporate show for manager training. The weirdest word of mouth ever. This one was old to young.
The absolutely bizarre irony of it is priceless!
I'm now imagining a world where Ron Livingston starred in The Goods instead of Piven... that would have been great casting.
