    Sometimes the music disturbs my peace in hearing your great story telling.

    I live about 30 min down the road from Bardstown. We know this is part of some kind of web of interconnected events that will all come to light.

      You're talking about the other deaths, right? The mother and daughter that were killed, I think the mother taught Jason's son? Crystal Rogers and her father. I think Crystal's aunt was also murdered or something? Been a while since I've sifted through all of it.

    • @davideagin5321

      The officer was killed. Then Crystal Rogers disappeared and was only a person or two removed from the officer's circle. Then her father was shot and killed mysteriously out in a field (he wouldn't stop investigating).
      I think there are even more events that are weird, just can't remember right now. But all of the people in this area suspect some kind of conspiracy is going on. It's almost regarded as common knowledge at this point.

      One of my relatives still lives there. She speculates that a bad cop is responsible for it all. Additional details removed from comment because it may have been too personal.

    So very well done. I'm not a big fan of podcasts, but I'm enjoying yours. Please know that the respect and compassion you convey towards the fallen officer is appreciated. My big brother was also shot in the Line of Duty, and the care expressed in speaking of Officer Ellis means more to his family, friends, and fellow LEOs means more than you know. Thank you. You are a talented story teller. I've been obsessed with this sort of story and with the generally morbid since I was 11 or 12, and about 15 years later, your podcast is refreshing and entertaining--creepy even, and I NEVER say that.

    Great podcast. I really like your intros and the background music. Thank you for keeping the memory of these people alive, you perform a great service IMO. Very sad case, I sure hope the family finds closure soon...

    Bardstown is a crooked little town. This was a professional hit. God bless his soul for trying to do the right thing in this filthy political town.

      B Johnson don’t say that I lived there and was best friends with Jason’s son Hunter who had Down syndrome it doesn’t make Bardstown bad it just makes the person who killed Jason bad. Jason even came to my school and let us play in his police car

      There certainly are a number of murders in Bardstown:
      LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Former Kentucky State Troopers have been hired to investigate a handful of unsolved crimes in Bardstown.
      Commissioner Rick Sanders says the retired troopers have been working for a couple months on cases that include the ambush killing of Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis in 2013, the murder of a mother and daughter, Kathy and Samantha Netherland, in their home, the disappearance of Crystal Rogers and the death of her father, Tommy Ballard, last year.

    Really nice podcast! I'll definitely continue to listen. You should look into the connection of this case to Crystal Rogers disappearance and her father' subsequent murder. I think they're connected. I fell upon your podcast researching Jason Ellis/Crystal Rogers... can't wait to continue listening.

    • @RaoulThomas007
      @RaoulThomas007 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And the investigators thought it might be connected too. Listen to Nick Houck's interrogation where the investigators question Nick which officers he worked with on his previous shift. Nick conveniently forgets Jason all together. This technique of forgetting everything possibly relevant becomes Nick's MO the entire interrogation, no doubt, leading to his termination. Note both Jason and Tommy Ballard were ambushed with firearms.

    The podcast would be much, much better without the obscenely long pauses and moments of silence. They become so frustrating and unbearable when all the listener wants is the story to continue.
