- Commentator Benedict Spence criticises the Conservatives for wheeling our Boris Johnson "at the last minute".
At a rally on Tuesday, Mr Sunak hailed the “Conservative family united” after an appearance by his predecessor Mr Johnson and claimed just 130,000 voters could help stem his party’s predicted losses.
He made his speech after Survation pollsters found Labour is on course to win more seats than it did in 1997.
Benedict says: "It just felt so unbelievably desperate to have him come out with these really quite tired lines."

All the money being thrown at illegal travellers is costing us our NHS being run in an efficient manner, the junior doctors a decent wage so they don't have to strike and we can get to see our GP's and have our specialist appointments. What is wrong with wheeling out Boris. The Tories are bringing out all the guns in this difficult situation. As would Labour in the same situation. Labour have been very careful not to allow certain members into the light because they know their policies will frighten to death the electorate. They have been very careful not to put detail into any of their policies, not to reveal many policies, hiding the most contentious policies like changing the sovereignty of Parliament. Labour are actually far far worse than anyone can imagine.
