Didn't have anything to do with his sea creature deck. Killing him first that game was punishment enough.
Next time Crim is back he is 100% gonna play another troll deck that breaks the deck building rules just to get the comments mad again (edit: I hope he does!)

He won in spite of the mana base. This isn't the first time someone won a game of commander despite stumbling on mana in the first few turns.

Academy Manufactor's replacement ability does not happen when creating creature tokens with Ygra on the battlefield. You are not creating a food token, the creature token only becomes a food once it's in play.

I feel like the best part of Tomer saying "it will not end well for you" to Phil when Phil was considering messing with Seth's card draw was it didn't sound like a threat from Tomer as much as it was a warning about how Seth will throw his own game to get revenge on someone that messes with his card draw
His superpower is playing lands that only allow him to play cards 7 turns in, and by that time people think he won't do anything, even though he's expended zero resources

Really appreciated Seth asking Tomer how he felt about Flubs. Hearing the deck builder for a super unique commander make a case for their deck after it stumbles is great. In Arena, my Infamous Catclaw got absolutely dunked on by a Flubs deck which just exploded in a single turn. Scute Swarm into a bajillion lands. Drawing so many cards from just a fetch and Ramunap Excavator. I'm gonna build my own version soon.

It's tapped swamp most of the time, but when is good, it is game winning kindof good.

The ceiling on mystic sanctuary is waaay higher it's literally being able to get your best instant/sorcery card back from your graveyard, at instant speed, because it is fetchable. like it's not even close
I think a thing to consider when playing Flubs is just taking aggressive mulligans is a lot more rewarding; starting card count is less important than the specific cards themselves as you *want* to run out so you can pop off.

yup. that's how it works. "Whenever a Food is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, put two +1/+1 counters on Ygra, Eater of All." at some point stuff was getting exiled which turns it off ofc, but I wasn't really counting counters. if Ygra was supposed to be much bigger though then that game maybe ends very differently since it becomes relevant to slap shadow on it and then just start killing people immediately.
This bloomburrow set is full of aggressively statted low-cost threats and great tempo cards! I can't wait to see what aggressive creature-oriented deck Tomer's brought to finally prove to Seth and Richard that tempo is a viable archetype against the Fog Ramp meta! :D

Richard needs to be attacked early. Every week he takes the first 5 turns off and never gets punished for it. Is there a reason no one goes for him early? Is everyone just distracted by the other permanants the other players are playing?
That is because they are playing casually to win and not playing aggressively to make their opponents lose. They have mentioned how the do not want to make someone sit there for a long time dead watching others play. They are playing bound to the "cannot cause any feel bad moments" social contract. Players like Richard who play passively then pop later and heavy ramp players benefit the most from this.
For some reason I can't quite explain I feel like Richard is somehow abusing a loophole with no one is allowed to die early, and as a result playing the greediest piles of all time. Super durdly and do-nothing until all the sudden he just wins
People are saying that Richard should have been attacked earlier, but it should be pointed out that Phil had a really fast start and took the initiative, both making him a bigger threat and also making it less likely that he would free up blockers to attack Richard with.
I really don't think Flubs suscks. Flubs requires crazy piloting skills and careful deckbuilding. I think Tomer was more excited to play the extra land with it than anything :D
Tomer, with 2 combo pieces on the battlefield: there is no combo in the deck. Flubbs is literally a storm commander… Isn't Song of Creation a nonbo with Flubbs? If you have 1 card in hand you draw 3 but then you have 3 in hand and whenever you play a spell, you draw 2 and discard 1
This changed a few years ago now, but in the past if you missed a Pact trigger (and drew your card for the turn other otherwise left your upkeep) you would just lose on the spot. The current rule is that missing a Pact trigger is a missed trigger and once your opponent points out that you missed it you can simply pay the mana for it (assuming the game hasn't progressed too far into the future) and keep going with a warning for missing a trigger.
I think Richard is sleeping on cosmium confluence as one of the best ramp spells in commander. You can search out three caves--imagine searching out planar nexus, sunken citadel, and urza's cave. The urza's cave can search for urza's tower, while sunken citadel makes the urza's cave. And, you can have forgotten monument in the deck to help your caves fix for mana, and sunken palace and echoing deep are also caves... I think richard naturally plays enough caves for this--three land ramp for 5? OH, and you can destroy enchantments or artifacts instead if the caves are already gone from your deck...

Notion thief is such a un-fun card for casual pods lol , playing that into empty handed flubs seems super anti-fun. Almost like that now banned angel into a mono colored deck , rough. Seeing cards played in person is so nice compared to mtgo imo much more visually appealing and digestible as a casual viewer.
I think trader + yagra + confectioner is infinite life and mana because you can sac the foodrats to themselves for life with the treasures and go 3 life for 2 treasures

I ALWAYS cut Temple of the False God. It’s hosed me more times than it’s payed off in my experience, especially outside of land-ramp decks.
It's the other way around for me, I play it a lot and I think I can count the times it wasn't online for a turn or two on one hand 🙂

Not really, you just need to play a low curve so you can empty your hand by the time you get Flubs down.

Notion thief is such a un-fun card for casual pods lol , playing that into empty handed flubs seems super anti-fun. Almost like that now banned angel into a mono colored deck , rough.
Seeing cards played in person is so nice compared to mtgo imo much more visually appealing and digestible as a casual viewer.
