i saw Micheal Gira and his Angels of Light play a show at the Tonic, an old club in Lower East Side. I think it was around the summer of 1998. This is what I remember from the show. Gira OPENLY talked about his time in Israel's Eden Prison. He'd recall to the audience about kids getting sexually assaulted routinely, but he did NOT mention himself as a victim. He also recalled how he used the well-stocked prison library & basically did a lot of reading. that's no innuendo that I want 2 presume.
If I remember correctly, he said that when he was in prison in Israel, the prisoner in the next cell was raped constantly. Can't remember whether he said he was or not tho.

I watch his interviews just for his smile and demeanour. His smile is so genuine and you can see that's an honest man's face.
