For 12 years, since November 2011 at the EMAs where they did a phenomenal medley where Adam just sang the roof of the place. He sang so well that you can see Brian May looking over at him with a smile on his face that said, "he's our boy, he really is it, he is our new beginning!"

Yes, I loved Cher's original, but Adam knocked it out of the park for sure! Did you know that Adam is singing lead with Queen now? YES!!!! KC Honors have several artists do covers of those being honored....I'd love for you to do the entire performance of of this.
I didn't really love the original song but Adam made me listen to the original lyrics and totally reinterpret the song.
This was a virtuoso performance, and beautifully emotive.
He slowed it down and showed a completely different side of this song. I mean, the original was a disco song, and for him to re imagine this song in such a beautiful, respectful way. I have never really paid attention to the words before his rendition. Cher was blown away. Adam was on Idol season 8. He was the runner up to Kris Allen....I know...who's he? Adam was the only thing memorable about that season. After idol, he went on to do his first album. Then he began touring with Queen until this day. They r on their North American leg of their 2023 tour. He does a great honor to Freddie Mercury. He also tours on his own. He recently released an album. He also returned to Idol this season as a mentor.
Exactly this arrangement and his voice changed this song into a poignant ballad. There's another reactor, Wings of Pegasus, who dissected how the performance was masterfully changed and Adam made it his own.
24 hours prior to this performance he was singing in the finale of Strictly Come Dancing in THE UK!!! Flew back to Wash DC and is singing like that!! He is an astonishing vocalist.

Adam is an icon. He has a successful solo career and just released his 5th album recently. He will be doing some solo shows and festivals in Europe this summer and then he will be back with Queen to do a 6 week tour of the US in October and November. You should check out some of the songs he does with Queen like Who Wants to Live Forever at the Isle of Wight or The Show Must Go On. I like his songs Closer to You (live sessions) or Underneath at his Las Vegas show in 2021. He has so many great songs it's hard to choose. Adam and Cyndi Lauper did the tribute for Cher. They each sang a song and then one together. Adam recently was on a TV musical game show and had to sing The Muffin Man as Cher to her version of Believe. He was incredible and the song as has gone viral and has over 80,000 TikTok videos made to it so far. He's range is incredible. People have even thought that they autotuned him to sound like her but they didn't he's just that good.
Adam was on Idol and won runner up, I believe. However, he wasn't on the 1st season where Queen 👑 Kelly won. He has a phenomenal voice.

Adam was on American Idol in 2009. Kelly Clarkson was in 2002, Season 1.
Adam did a rough version of this on his American Idol season 8 Hollywood Week. That's probably why he was chosen to do this event. People afterwards kept on asking him to release it as a single, but it only hit Spotify a couple of years later.

Adam is one of those rare vocalist/singer that never sings a bad song. (Steve Perry, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Michael Bolton-- to name just a few) Who are flawless, disciplined and a joy to listen to. Before Idol, he was doing a stage play, and quite when he made idol. He was trained early on as a kid, thanks to great and supportive parents.
During idol, he would very often arrange and make a song his very own. This was when he first worked with Queen, and eventually they masked Adam to tour with them.
Watch his idol video and you will see and hear why he is such a great vocalist. And human being. Paula Abdule was over the moon and gushing about him from the audition to the final day of idol.
BTW, Chers version of Believe was the first time auto tune was used by a pro singer.

They instantly 'clicked' - and have been touring for more than 12 years now - coming to North America this fall - - but all tickets sold out in a few hours - also to additional concerts.
I agree. Sure I Love that Kelly is our 1st. But. She did have to do a lot of things that were in her contract just because she won. Runners up have more freedom. And! Just Look where he's at now!! Not too shabby! Lol

Kelly Clarkson is the "World Famous Original Idol" (tm TelevisionWithoutPity... I so miss that website). She won Season 1. Adam Lambert came in second in Season 8. He tours with Queen these days, doing a pretty good job of filling Freddy Mercury's shoes... or at least as best as anyone could.
