@jennywohlwend3614 Right? I've totally lost interest in DDV because of all the micro-transactions. And let's be honest, there is nothing "micro" about the cost of moonstones. 😢 However, I'm happy to see that this game seems to be handling it more appropriately thus far. The devs have made tons of very thoughtful choices. I LOVE that it's free to play, and that the upgraded paid items are still optional. I'm much more likely to purchase things when I don't feel pressured to do so. Now I'm just hoping the prices are reasonable. Super excited to play!
Probably unpopular opinion but I predict it will go exactly like Dreamlight Valley has gone. Not trying to be rude but some of ya’ll have some short memories. Free to play NEVER means “actually free”.
This actually sounds amazing. As someone who loves cozy games/farming/life sims but can't play most of them due to their restrictiveness and my adhd this sounds like a dream come true.
As someone who has been talking about Palia and making content for it for a while now, I really appreciate this really thorough and well put together coverage. Great job!
Gives me major 'Free Realms' vibes from the art styles, gameplay, and vibes. Loved that game growing up! I would like optional combat classes to compliment the fantasy theming.
Absolutely can’t wait 🤩 I watched the livestream but missed several of the things you mentioned, so thank you for compiling them in a much more digestible video for us ☺️
Excited for this! Heard about this 3 years ago and I've been eagerly awaiting the release since then! Can't believe how much progress has been made!! 😀
Played for about 3 hours yesterday. When they say COZY, they mean it. Its absolutely beautiful to look at, extremely relaxing to play. I happen to play PVP ranked games in literally every genre, APEX, LEAGUE, OVERWATCH, VALORANT, STARCRAFT. So my wheel house is most definitely PVP heavy. I rarely go into PVE/ FARMING SIM(?) I dont know what to categorize it. It was quite pleasing to sit and farm objectives, build my house, craft my items. Im heavy into killing/team based online games. And I was pleasently surprised with how beautiful the game looked and played. Singularity 6 has a banger on their hands and if they continue to listen to everyones feedback this can dominate the MMO market. I did enjoy my time in PALIA, as I've waited several years to play, yet, I've never played Animal crossing and the like because those genres just dont call my attention. Im happy I got a chance at the ALPHA twice now. And both sessions (even tho just about 3 hours worth) were an absolute joy. I can see the older crowd really getting into the community aspect such as relationships, and I can see the younger players just appreciating the farm and crafting party of it. Its different, dare I say....SIMS but ON STEROIDS...even then I feel like its in a league of its own. Cant wait for it to release and see everyone enjoy it as much as I have!
I don't see it in any mentions of this game but I hope this will be a future feature. I hope to see vehicle transport in-game. A variety of different vehicular transport going up to fancy sport car like in Archeage. This vehicular transport can also support a trading system which can consume and provide a sink for our farming, mining, hunting and crafting products in a seamless complete economic supply chain cycle. And lastly this vehicular transport can support the one feature that I have been looking for but cannot find in ANY game so far. That is mobile residence which can be actualized through a camper van. Imagine where you can drive your camper van to anywhere you want and set up home there for as long as you like and move on when you don't. Give us a good comprehensive camper van system and you take my money.
There seems to be a lot of genuine love going into this game instead of greed. I hope it stays that way 🤞 This has been the most informative vid yet on this game. Thank you!
As someone who played World of Warcraft for roleplay and lore, Palia looks amazing, and I know some of the devs from WoW worked on it. That makes me hopeful, World of Warcraft has been so good these days, but it's more combat focused. Having a relaxing MMORPG for a change sounds nice.
This looks so amazing, the furniture sets are stunning. Never seen any furniture to that level of gorgeous in a game ever haha. I wonder if they have mounts? Riding around Palia on a cute fluffy thing would be the beeeest lol
I am so excited for this game. I've had it on my list for at least a year or two of games to check out when they come out. So exciting the time is almost here!!
Now these guys are thinking outside the box and thinking about what people need in a game (hidden microtransactions, positive reinforcement, supporting different play styles, etc). I know theyre not the first to do most of these things but it sounds like theyre doing a good job at making a game that makes people happy and not so stressed. I have a lot of hope for this one!!
Just downloaded the game yesterday on my switch and immediately came on here to see your tips 😂… love your content ! Thank you for always being clear . I’m new to gaming . Just got my switch earlier this year 😂 so I’m a late bloomer trying to figure out what types of games I like ❤
I've been waiting for this game for what feels like forever! I'm so excited and can't wait to play! It's so beautiful and I bought a new top of the line graphics cart so I'd be ready when it came out! So happy!
I like what I hear, no punitive features, no progress limiting system like energy/stamina limitation, no pressure to log in constantly for fear of missing out on something. Some other things are not so clear atm though like is there a item limit for decorating your room/land? In some other games, this is a game breaker when you have such a big room/land but you already reach the deco item limit and you cannot deco it further. It sucks to see half your big room/land remain empty when you still have plenty of deco item which you cannot place due to the limit. I like how non-intrusive their monetarization model is but I am not too sure they can sustain on this model. I don't mind that they have a in-game advertisement model whereby players can opt in to receive periodic advertisement (period which you can adjust as an option) in a picture-within-picture kinda of system. The opt in is entirely voluntary and optional and is a way for players to show their support for this game if they think it deserve the advertisement revenue to sustain the game development. It would thus be an incentive for the dev to do its best to make its players happy so that they will voluntarily opt in to the advertisement to generate revenue for the game in a win-win manner. The dev will know exactly how many players are opted in to generate their advertisement revenue and any changes to this figure will directly indicate the players' sentiment. If they implement or don't implement some features that make players angry, many players will opt out and they will know and vice versa. This also serve as a very direct and effective feedback system for the dev to gauge players' sentiment rather than using those ineffective Q&A survey form. It is only through an effective immediate feedback mechanism that the game can react and improve fast and stay ahead of the competition. I don't have access to Palia's feedback channel atm and I hope someone will bring this idea to them for consideration.
So I get that people can't burn your house down, but I wouldn't even want strangers to visit my house at all. Will people just be able to find and walk into other people's houses, or will they be hidden unless invited?
Superrrr excited for this game!! ❤ Love all of the thoughtful decisions made by the devs... down to how truly customizable they've made things. From the characters, to the designing & decorating, to the ability of not needing to hunt, etc. unless you choose to. I'm looking forward to an enjoyable experience. 😊
I don’t have a PC, but I’m excited for the game to come to switch. I don’t mind the micro transactions for cosmetic items. If they stick to what they said, then I actually think they’re doing it in a very tasteful way. Keeping it in a separate area can also be helpful for parents of young children. Since you have to go into a specific area, as long as the kids don’t go there they won’t even know what stuff is offered there. It could save parents a lot of money in the long run. Especially since the items there are permanent, meaning that certain cosmetic items can be used as gifts or rewards for birthdays and/or good behavior.
The release of this on the Switch is probably going to be my outro for Monster Hunter Rise and for Stardew Valley. If I can be a gardener/big axe wielding knight I'm all for it! 🌸 ⚔ 💀
Hey Iona have you heard of kitori academy? Seems like a cozy game where you're attending a witch school, there's a pet cat and everything 😊 maybe you could talk about this one soon as well as the release date is fairly soon! Thank you as always for the great content and hope you're having a great day!
I'm really hoping that we can actively choose to play with certain players, because my niece and her boyfriend are both very keen on this game since I showed it to them, and I would love if the three of us could all share a village.
You had me until you said "Free to play". I did watch the whole video, which made me even more sad and disappointed. The game looks very good and a lot of fun. I've only played a few free to play games and they've all soured me on the idea. I prefer to buy my games and have the whole experience integrated within. I don't mind paying for DLC for additional content and even some cosmetics. My issue with Free to Play is that it makes me feel like I need to keep paying for something that should have been in the base game to begin with. My fear is that the base game cosmetics are going to be lackluster and not enjoyable at all. Then when it comes time to support the game and actually buy something from the store; it's going to be a mess. Items that are overpriced and by the time you get everything you would like; you've spent FAR more than what you would have had you actually bought the game on its own. Then there's usually the constant notifications of new premium items, premium event/season passes. Or the "limited time only" items that make you feel like you're going to miss out. Even though you're not quite sure if you really like the item. Only to have something better come out the next week and make you feel like you wasted your money. I will have to wait on this one. I'm still torn. As I said, it looks really good but I also don't want to get burned. I hope that you'll play it and give us your thoughts when it does actually come out. If they can do their premium store the right way and not be predatory, then I'll give it a go.
This looks like all the best stuff from Diablo IV meets My Time at Sandrock! Aw, man, August-December is high-level show season for me. Can't wait to catch up on all these games!
@@Eeowna True! I just finished No Place Like home this morning while coming off a Harvestella hangover, so maybe I'll stick to some smaller games (and the Farsiders beta) in the meantime.
1 hour days thank goodness other farming games that only have like 20 minutes to a day you are rushing to get everything done so getting to know the villagers ends up going on the back burner , I am loving the decoration and house building mechanics.
Tentatively excited- I can see so much promise in this, if everything plays out the way I understand it’s supposed to, and it plays smoothly with good controller support (for pc gaming I use a laptop and usually sprawled somewhere comfy, not at a desk, which makes wasd and ‘mouse’ controls awkward as heck)
This is what I felt when I watched their first cinematic trailer years ago, but I’m so impressed by everything they’ve shown so far, they really seem to have delivered. Can’t wait to finally see it for myself in August 🤩
@@Eeowna Fingers crossed it's everything we hope for. Could be incredible if it delivers everything promised. PS. I'm also 100% with you on a new AC game being a launch game for the next Nintendo console. I feel it in my bones haha!
This is great. So much of video games is about violence which yeah there's violence in real life but frankly for vast majority of people life is about working and/or making things. This game definitely feels like a making things first kind of game. I love it.
It's not really a Massively Multiplayer OG, it's more of a Moderately Multiplayer OG. Which is fine, just... for some people that's a pretty important distinction. I still am really looking forward to it, and 'moderately' is OK with me because honestly, I just don't like most people.
I’m genuinely so excited for this game! It gives me Ghibli and Dreamlight Valley vibes. My only hope is that the control feel less…loose, whenever you’re decorating. I literally never go on Dreamlight Valley for the switch anymore because moving things and placing them gets way too frustrating for me, I just want it to be easy like Animal Crossing haha. ANYways, I can’t wait to try this! It looks so amazing
I can’t wait for this game and my goodness for once a game has managed to do some gorgeous ethnic hair. I can’t wait to give my person the braided 2 puffs. Also love that my wallet will not suffer.
Totally agree there!! I saw like, 5 different braided/locked hairstyles on that first page of the customization screen and felt so... included. 🥹❤ I remember when I didn't have a choice in gaming other than straight blonde or brunette hair. 😅
This game looks interesting but what I don't understand about it is how the world works/how big it is. We've been shown the player character building a homestead in one specific area and running around the town and surrounding area doing stuff. But can you build your house in some other spot? Can I make it out in the wilderness on the edge of a cliff? And where are other players' houses? Obviously they can't all be in one shared world because the world would need to be massive and no server could handle that. So the housing areas must be instances that perhaps the (up to) 24 players can join. Is everyone's house on the same plot in the town but then you have to load into a separate instance to see somebody else's house? If so I'd say it's not really an MMO any more than Animal Crossing is, since players would be mostly split into separate instances that they have to join to see other players. Although perhaps I missed something explaining how this works. It can still be a fun game and there's plenty to improve on in the Animal Crossing NH formula, for multiplayer especially.
I think I have already found an item that will probably be traded highly for real money. First off, since there is trading for real money in this free-to-play game, items will have significant value. The current gold farming sites will likely have many bots running around in the game, gathering reagents. There's a specific wood reagent that can't be farmed alone, and that's the main item (reagent) that will be highly in demand. If you played Pre-pre-pre Alpha Palia, you would know which tree it comes from, requiring at least one other player to cut it down.
I can't wait for it it actually looks like my dream cozy game. It may be the only one that could possibly top Sun Haven as my current favorite cozy game. My only hope is they have a single player option bc I do prefer to play my cozy games single player but if it isn't its fine I'm still just as excited for it
Ever since i heard about Palia about 2 years ago I've been so excited about it. art/graphics remind me of sims 4, but this game looks amazing! i signed up & can't wait to play
Sounds so good! ❤Free and able to play as much or as little at any time of day, with others or not❤ and relieved itll be a game where we have to search out the items to buy, unlike Disney dreamlight valley where its shoved in our faces at all times and super expensive!
Love that it's going to be on switch, but also easy to switch between. I've had TERRIBLE experiences with Betas and losing all my work, I'm not they type of person who likes to repeat the same thing, so I'll wait until launch to try it out. Thank you for bringing attention to this game!
I don't play mmo's or multiplayer (I'm very much a slngle player gamer) but I'll give it a go. Hopefully it'll be enough to grab my attention for a long while.
This game is very easy to play solo! During my play tests I mostly played solo and didn’t feel like I missed out on anything. Just maybe a little more lonely than the ones running around together
@@Chaddwit2ds thats very good to know as I was was worried and given the impression that a few things very only available with others (which would be very disappointing and annoying if true). Thanks for the information!
Fingers crossed for getting the code for closed beta, but at least its not too long a wait for the open! SO stoked its going to have crossplayability and shared saves. One of the things that most disappointed me about the Switch version of Diablo 3 was that I not only couldn't play with my fam (all on PC) but that I couldn't even access the same account :'D Been waiting for a good cozy MMO to come out, hopefully my PC can handle it (it's half a potatoe with a good GPU :'D)
Impo, I kinda think they should do a "battle pass" kind of thing instead of *just* cosmetics, and it can be pretty cheap if they wish to. I know there’s probably lots who will love to buy the costumes, but for me I would buy a cheap battle pass, with a cosmetic or 2 in it. I’m actually a f2p player for all games I play because I don’t have much money, so it might sound weird of me suggesting this kind of thing, but if I could I would. But no in-game premium currencies pls, especially in a battle pass
I really need help? Since the seventh update on palia, I am not able to use my tools or weapons without first pressing the r button after calling up your tool or weapon. Then if I do not put the weapon away or tool and I just try to call up another tool or weapon I will go into immediate swinging the ax until I can't stop then I have to save and restart. Please someone help me on Switch?
Just touching on the MTX in tihs game. I agree with you that we have to keep in mind it's a free to play game and they need to make money. there is no doubt about that BUT the pricing is truelly insane to me. 5$ ofr the cheaper outfits and 15$ max for the coolest ones would be alright by me. but these prices are so ihgh imo. you don't want to look the same all the time so even buying 2 really cool looking ones is almost the price of a full game. thats insane. Especially palia being this friendly family game where you play with your kids or w/e for most EU country's it's quite a lot of money. Other than that it looks an amazing game.
As long as the game doesn't punish me around time and schedule I will definitely play the crap out of this game. If the monetization is also centered around cloths and not housing I'd love to shell some cash. I really don't like when things like housing get cosmetic gated. Not having invasive shops is huge. I'd rather support a project that respects me as a customer than one that is deeply toxic in how it presents its monetization. As long as no systems are locked behind money, I want to play WITH friends, whether they pay or not. Expansions and gameplay should hopefully never be gated. ESPECIALLY skill gated. Asking people to grind 100 hours to unlock the area I want to go into with them would get real annoying. And really hoping each new map expansion comes with sets of housing cosmetics you farm there.
omg i will definitely ask my bf to play this with me! i can already tell we will spend many hours in this game xD i am also hoping they add player romance then we can date there too ❤
The 1 hr = 1 day thing is interesting! Do you know if they’ll be like Sims days where you play at night as well, or like Stardew days where you automatically sleep through the night and restart in the next morning?
Does anybody know if time will continue on after you close the game; ala, Animal Crossing? Cause, this was a topic of contention for me with Animal Crossings; if I wasn't able to open the game for several days, or worse, weeks, things in AC would seem to go sideways!
Just checked the privacy notice and decided I'll wait for steam to host this game, these guys even use outside us and gives freely your personal info. I love farming games but feel I should be a little more careful with my info. Also, if you don't read a lot, just scroll and select the text and have your windows or apple read it, that's how I caught a lot of it. Would have never known otherwise... Sorry.
I'm curious on how they will do the multiplayer part on the Switch. Will they allow us to communicate to our friends? Does anyone have any idea what that will look like?

Then there's usually the constant notifications of new premium items, premium event/season passes. Or the "limited time only" items that make you feel like you're going to miss out. Even though you're not quite sure if you really like the item. Only to have something better come out the next week and make you feel like you wasted your money.
I will have to wait on this one. I'm still torn. As I said, it looks really good but I also don't want to get burned. I hope that you'll play it and give us your thoughts when it does actually come out. If they can do their premium store the right way and not be predatory, then I'll give it a go.
Yeah I really do hope that f2p games keep in mind the world climate when they make prices for items
I can't wait to play it on the switch I been wanting a new exciting cozy game to play with my boyfriend
This looks so promising. It’s everything I like about cozy gaming rolled into one game.
I’ve never played an MMO, but this looks so good!
normally I get too scared as I suck at combat and never play them again - so I am glad this one is wholesome
This is a "small mmo" with just 24 players loaded in at once, so you don't need to be scared, it will be chill and cozy
This looks like all the best stuff from Diablo IV meets My Time at Sandrock!
Aw, man, August-December is high-level show season for me. Can't wait to catch up on all these games!
yeah I am glad I have a pc to get going with this before fae farm takes over my life
@@Eeowna True! I just finished No Place Like home this morning while coming off a Harvestella hangover, so maybe I'll stick to some smaller games (and the Farsiders beta) in the meantime.
It's the "...with friends." part that's going to be a struggle for me. lol
We have a discord full of people getting ready to play it
1 hour days thank goodness other farming games that only have like 20 minutes to a day you are rushing to get everything done so getting to know the villagers ends up going on the back burner , I am loving the decoration and house building mechanics.
Well I'm excited 😊 also I love your eyeshadow it's gorgeous
Thank you !!
I'm excited for this, but it sounds way too good to be true.
I feel this - only a couple of weeks till we know!
I love it.
New to this game (hours/maybe a day or so of play off and on). Still figuring out a lot of stuff on it. Seems like a really good game so far.
This is going to be huge especially from fans of farming sims 🎉
I was kinda excited then I saw the livestream and was HYPED
@@Eeowna yes! Finally something to be excited about on Nintendo Switch. Actually this and Loftia 🌱
So im not going to pass out and get robbed if i dont make it to bed before 1am ?
I hope there will be an option to play offline like ddlv.
it kinda has the same aesthetic vibe as Fortnite and Disney Dreamlight Valley, hope it works well and doesn't have glitches
There are so many fantastic games this year!! 😀
I’m so excited for this game when it comes to switch I’m currently downloading the preorder so I can play instantly once 8 am comes on the 14th
Sounds like a cross between animal crossing, dreamlight valley, The Sims, and evercrack/ Ever Quest. I can't wait!
Will this be cross-platform?
I so loved Everquest! Haven’t heard it mentioned in ages. Yes, this seems to have the adventure aspect without the combat. My dreams come true.
In the Stream the devs did mention that it will have it's own launcher, and won't be available on Steam.
Weird as I’ve heard beta keys were steam keys?
@@Eeowna What you can do though is add it to your library as a non-steam game.
Great video! Thanks for all the information. I'm so excited for this game!!
I can’t wait for this game and my goodness for once a game has managed to do some gorgeous ethnic hair. I can’t wait to give my person the braided 2 puffs. Also love that my wallet will not suffer.
so many aspects of the game seem so well done
Totally agree there!! I saw like, 5 different braided/locked hairstyles on that first page of the customization screen and felt so... included. 🥹❤ I remember when I didn't have a choice in gaming other than straight blonde or brunette hair. 😅
This is like a game showcase. Cool.
Thank you for sharing this info with us!!!!!
wide as an ocean deep as a puddle
lots of things "to do", none of them reward your skill, brain or fun
nothing that 100 other games don't do already
They basically made Free Realms come back in a big way. Very Keen.
I can't wait for it it actually looks like my dream cozy game. It may be the only one that could possibly top Sun Haven as my current favorite cozy game. My only hope is they have a single player option bc I do prefer to play my cozy games single player but if it isn't its fine I'm still just as excited for it
I can't wait for this!!
will it ever be available for MacBook :(
My most hated aspect of these sims is the cooking and fishing. I usually find a way around it, hopefully I can here too 😂
If trading exists, I’ll quite likely be cooking for everyone! XD
Lol. I don’t know why I just hate it so much.
Ever since i heard about Palia about 2 years ago I've been so excited about it. art/graphics remind me of sims 4, but this game looks amazing! i signed up & can't wait to play
Sounds so good! ❤Free and able to play as much or as little at any time of day, with others or not❤ and relieved itll be a game where we have to search out the items to buy, unlike Disney dreamlight valley where its shoved in our faces at all times and super expensive!
ooo stress test is happening today can't wait to try the game.
Did you play Free Realms? This reminds me a lot of it.
Will it be optimized for the Steam Deck? (Looks fun! I'll need to give it a try!)
Fingers crossed for getting the code for closed beta, but at least its not too long a wait for the open! SO stoked its going to have crossplayability and shared saves. One of the things that most disappointed me about the Switch version of Diablo 3 was that I not only couldn't play with my fam (all on PC) but that I couldn't even access the same account :'D
Been waiting for a good cozy MMO to come out, hopefully my PC can handle it (it's half a potatoe with a good GPU :'D)
I absolutely HATE fishing in every single farming sim game, its always needlessly complicated and takes forever so im glad theres a workaround!
I’m the same way and during testing the fishing was my favorite skill!!
I played RuneScape growing up this reminds me of that but in a farming style type instead of fighting and I’m so excited !
I always watch your videos! Love them. Do you mind telling us what camera you use?
Sony zv-e10
I’m so excited to add this to my wishlist!
How can you invite people to your server on switch? The invite button won't work..
The sad part is though, this is sadly the normal price now for cosmetics
I did some research and even non f2p games are charging this if not more now
As long as the game doesn't punish me around time and schedule I will definitely play the crap out of this game.
And really hoping each new map expansion comes with sets of housing cosmetics you farm there.
omg i will definitely ask my bf to play this with me! i can already tell we will spend many hours in this game xD
i am also hoping they add player romance then we can date there too ❤
The 1 hr = 1 day thing is interesting! Do you know if they’ll be like Sims days where you play at night as well, or like Stardew days where you automatically sleep through the night and restart in the next morning?
I love that it doesn't penalize you for not always logging in and playing constantly.
Does anybody know if time will continue on after you close the game; ala, Animal Crossing? Cause, this was a topic of contention for me with Animal Crossings; if I wasn't able to open the game for several days, or worse, weeks, things in AC would seem to go sideways!
I touched on it but they designed it so it doesn’t punish you for not being able to log in often 😊
Hope they have a plan for farming bots that are typical for any MMO with “farming or trading” involved
I'm so excited for this!!!
Sorry.
Aug 10th is also my birthday! Happy days! I'm so excited 😊
They had me with the Sweeney Todd lol
Is there split screen play?
I'm curious on how they will do the multiplayer part on the Switch. Will they allow us to communicate to our friends? Does anyone have any idea what that will look like?
I hope I can get elf ears, varying types of horns, tails, and glowing eyes
Hmm this feels like it’s going to be the cozy version of gta online
How do I save the game. Everytime I turn it off it starts again from the beginning
You don’t need to save it auto saves
@@Eeowna thanks for the reply. Mine just goes back to the beginning of the game. I don't know why.
