My two sons still live in our home, because there simply aren't any houses available for them. So while Dutchies are normally welcoming, the housing crisis that's going on right now, makes us frown upon expats and foreigners buying/renting living space that could have been used to house our own.
Exactly, my children are also stuck at home. No way out to obtain a reasonable space to live in. When you are single, with a moderate income. NO Chance to get a house or apartment.
@@jadesarahyoutube Count on at least one year before those apartments are ready to move in. Be aware that refugees still have priority, next there are Dutch civilians who have been on waiting lists for 15 years or longer and if there would be still apartments for rent after all of that, it's between you and 50 000 other people looking for a home. And since you already have housing, chances are very slim for you.
@@Halo3vidIt is possible, but it takes a LONG LONG time. I’m 46 years old, finally have an appartment, but I had to search/wait for more than 15 years. At one point I actually became homeless, and throughdifferent instances I finally got a home. Pfffff.
Ahhh yes you are right! Marrying a person with Dutch citizenship grants you access/permanent residence to the country! I will edit my description to add that in! Thank you
Advice from a dutchie : finding a house is super difficult in the Netherlands, we are in a housing crisis . Furnished apartments are mega expensive , so better be prepared to slaughter your piggy bank . It is worth it, though - Willkommen in Nederland ☔ ⛱ 🌂 🌈
Hahaha I know we are currently wanting to move out and omgggg it is so hard! We have been applying since last year October and still, NOTHING!!! If you have any advice to make it easier or faster I would deeply appreciate it
@@jadesarahyoutube put your name down for a woningcorporatie, waiting times are endless, but one day ... For the rest, try via employers, don't fall prey to all those 'agencies ' that make you pay a premium and then only deliver stuff from 2500 euros per month . Networking like a mad thing might help . Buying is near impossible unless you have 100 000 Euro's in hand to start off a bank loan . We are a tiny country with lots of people and building for the huursektor is shamefully low .
No not at all this is all only to move here! If you want to visit you will just need to apply for a visa and have the documents in order and then go to the Visa Embassy that Netherlands has its location at (in SA, Cape Town it was in town centre) and then you hand in your passport and then they send the passport to have your visa request accepted or denied and then your visa will (if accepted) be put in your passprot and then they post it to you.
Yes that too thanks for reminding! but thats quite easy to do you just send a form to the bank you wanna be with and they call you, send you a device and your cards to register and thats it!
Thank you so much for this! I’m moving in January and this video was sooooo informative, I didn’t know about the train card thing ❤️
Im SO glad this was helpful!
i hope you feel at home in our country. feel welcome

@@Halo3vid The only possible solution is for brothers and sisters to get a shared flat.
