The original series was wonderful. It lasted 4 years, however; the new series lasted 7. Longevity is a strong indicator of success. The newer one has more longevity.
@@timrob87You've just made that up in your head!... All the top rated and best ever UK comedy shows are much shorter on average in regards to seasons... Fawlty Towers being only 3 seasons and is often voted the best ever, The Office at 2 seasons, Inbetweeners at 3 seasons and I could go on all day... Some were only 2 seasons and my favourite ever was only one season... There's are exceptions like Only Fools And Horses but in general the best ever ones have been short and at best they were a mix... There's absolutely no correlation between the length of the show being long and success!
does anyone who watched the original series actually find still open all hours funny I think its awful ive seen original series sooo many times and its still as funny as it was the first time
I couldn't watch it. It was absolutely terrible compared to the original. They tried to turn Granville into Arkwright and it was just too surreal. I think it tainted David Jason's career too after he played such epic characters in Only Fools and Horses and Frost.
So the millions of delighted contented viewers who watch the show mean nothing to you. "The resounding success of the Christmas revival showed the huge and enduring audience affection for this much-loved classic." Typical young people's attitude these days - if you don''t like it then it must be garbage. The BBC would never have commissioned a series if the pilot hadn't been the success it was.
Still dated old boy network that's why more and more people are not owning a tv any more BBC had enough of there biased viewing. I not even mention the news be here for ever
