I wonder if any of it will even have a conclusion in times to come. I assume the hack is still being worked on, but from what I gather the main goal is just for the player to escape the plexus; not answer the mysteries about it. Maybe that'll be a sort of alternate ending where you have to go out of your way to dig up every little piece, and overcome the cryptic magic that twists and turns you around. Maybe it won't, and we'll only get to barely escape with our bro's life, not knowing what the inner machinations of the plexus or the demented entities within are, but knowing that it's better to be safe and away from its dimension and resting comfortably after that escape that might conclude the hack's story. As cool as a substory unfolding the mysteries of the plexus would be, I kind of hope they don't get solved. One of the creepiest things about the plexus is just that we don't know why it exists in that world, or why it does what it does, why it forms the surreal, warped-memory feeling places it does. It doesn't need to be explained or truly understood. It just needs to be escaped.
@@moronribbons5774 It is still in development, there's already a small demo of the next update. But it doesn't have enough to confirm or de-confirm what you said, since it's just a demo. I really hope you can both try to escape the plexus and answer the misteries. And i don't think the rom hack has that much of a lore like you seem to be saying, it's more about being confusingly scary. Like, "why did they remove so much content from the betas in the final game? Why the fuck were they adding a mangled corpose to the game? Why does this song sound so creepy? Why is this area so empty?" and making up your own lore. It'd be cool to have a lore like that, though.
@@moronribbons5774 iirc 1.0 is gonna have more endings but all the lore related things are purposely kept vague so you can make your own interpretation of the madness and mystery of the plexus directly confirmed by the creator
This song reminds me of death because while I was severely injured in hospital not knowing if i was going to make it, I was playing on yoshi island on my gba and this was the ost melody that played.
That sounded like it was a very tough and frightening experience to go through, I hope things are going much better for you now and I wish you the best.
I think this was scrapped because the song was too repetitive when it comes to its soundfont, plus I think it sometimes used to cause minor lag in the older versions due to said soundfont, but I could be wrong. Though, I wish the music box version was used for the slow melody at the beginning, it gave areas a strong sense of mystery as soon as you entered one.
Very astute - It's a waltz rhythm (giving the dancy feel) juxataposed with a minor key progression with tritones. These qualities both are associated with darker moods, the latter in particular being associated with sinister elemenets ("devil in music"). The piece as a whole seems to be influenced by "Danse Macabre", a piece of classical music about exactly what you described (dance with death)!!
this is such a cool song why was it scrapped? maybe it plays in too short of an area so it doesnt really get started?? i havent played b3313 in like a year so i dont really remember where this was or even if it was in the build i played so i wouldnt know
i'd guess the author of the hack didn't want to use too many tracks from other mario games. so areas that used the yoshi's island castle theme got changed to some version of peach's castle theme. and i'd assume this track didn't give much dread in a place like this so it was replaced.
i was in the hospital working on the personl ai thing im bringing it to life. i risked my whole right arm like berdly connected to wires and still coding mips asm in gpt4 like kaze :D

B3313 is a very deep romhack, probably the deepest iceberg could be made out of it. The soundtrack is good, but the mysteries that lie are boundless.

Did they remove this version in the abandoned version? Should've kept it.

99 dollars, Paaaaanasonic Blu-ray!
IMHO, I still prefer the organ (?) version because it makes the part from 1:38 sound more intimidating.
I'm not really sure how to describe this one, it almost feels like a dance with death? It's almost like the carrousel...
