I love how well you explained everything. My only critique is that there are actually 4 undertones not three. Cool, Neutral, Olive, and Warm. Olive isn't as common but those of us who had a really hard time finding a good foundation shade and don't quite fit into the three mentioned are usually olive. So if anyone is still struggling despite thinking they are one of the three, add a little blue color corrector to a foundation that's too warm for you but the right depth and see if that matches.
Hands down, one of the most thorough, informative foundation tutorials I have ever seen!! Girl, where have you been all my life? New Subbie 4Sure!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can't believe you just posted this. You and I are the same shade and have the same undertones. I just failed to figure out my Fit Me Foundation shade on my own. 😢 Thanks for the cheat sheet! 👌😂
Just came across your vedios my dear and I am loving them,if I was watching all along I would definitely be a pro in doing my make up. Thanks as I said before you are a very good teacher.❤
This was amazingly helpful for me! Just started getting into doing my own makeup and your tutorials are game changing when deciding on what products work best for my skin type and choosing my make up
Love this tutorial, very helpful! Your presence is calming and professional. Best of luck to you in the growth of your platform and such a beautiful natural look.💖✨💖✨💖🫶🏽
thank you for this I can barely see my veins so I'm sure if its warm or neutral undertones but I know I have green veins lol but this was so thorough cause I want to switch my foundation up because I been buying the same one for years and all I use it concealer method but have been very much insecure still around foundation because I really want to better my skincare because my hyperpigmentation is still very much bad 🥲 I know I am also combination as well but in due time I will figure it out by taking a taste and then swatching.
The vein test is not a good way to judge undertone. Do you look good in any form of orange? If you do you are likely leaning warm. Try cream vs pure white. If white is better you lean cool, if cream you lean warm. If you cant tell you are neutral. Most people have a neutral undertone.
I can't wear any orange at all and I look miles better in white cos cream appears dull... and yet I'm a warm yellow undertone. Cools appear Grey and ashy on me.
@@Michelle-we4pb You could be neutral, I'm neutral I think and orange doesn't look good on me either. If colours look ashy they might be too soft on you.
My skin colour is medium, combination, sensitive and my undertone is neutral. So, could you advise me on foundations, concealer, and powders suitable for me?
What would you suggest for persons who are not able to do a swatch test? If you are outside the US or live in places that dont offer testers or you a buying online, whats the best way to get the best match?
what advice can you give me if my face is darker than my neck? for example: my neck is like that cappuccino Maybelline shade but my face is a bit more like the Mario foundation shade... do I have to look for an in between shade?
I know I have combination, dark, warm skin. However, I never get which undertone I am. Meaning if I have pink, yellow or red undertone🤷🏽♀️. I’m between 340 and 355 in maybelline fit me
I have a cool/ pink tone on my face but my neck and chest are golden olive tone i have fenty 300 and i wear this and go out it doesn’t match with my neck and chest. And im not sure what to do
A lot of people, myself included have redness in the face. It does not influence skin undertone. Sometimes people think red means cool toned but that is not true. Try to determine which colours flatter you the most, if the colours are cool then you have a cool undertone and vice versa.
My face is waaaay darker than my face. I have red undertones on my face and some yellow in the center, and my neck is super light with yellow undertones. It's SOOOOO hard to find my right shade. Help!😩
You do know that some black woman have darker face and even darker neck...2 different skintones. So how would the jaw line swatch really work on this regard
*sigh* I’m really starting to hate my complexion since it’s not found in the more popular brands. I cannot find my perfect shade in Fenty, Mac or Danessa Myricks in foundation which is really tragic. I have normal skin. But I’m a TRUE neutral undertone-not red, not golden, not slightly warm, not slightly cool literally just NEUTRAL! Neither of these brands carry my shade AND undertones which is sad since this is supposed to be catered to black women. I spent the entire weekend and hours at the store trying to get color matched in these brands & the only thing I matched was with a skin tint☹️I just give up at this point.
Why on earth would you use to wrist to check your underdone when your wrist and your face have different colours ? At the same time, you advised people not to test foundation with the back of their hands. The undertone on your wrist is different from the one on your face or neck.
@@queennzinga5988your undertone is basically the natural colour under your skin and you can check that by looking at your vein colour. Its not your skintone. Undertone is the same throughout your body whether one part is lighter than another.

Because undertones are based on vein color under the skin and you can see the veins on the wrists
