    Thank you so much cor showing your brushes, especially the size 20 mop quill. I have dreamed of a brush like this! They just came back in stock today. I think I've been waiting for like a year. Super exciting!

    Interesting. I have quite a few of those travels. Escoda, Isabey, DaVinci, Silver Velvet, Rafael, plus a few regular cost Fuumuui, etc.
    My favorite is the Rafael 0/3 something little mop brush. I do a lot of urban sketching, so I like something flexible for out and about general sized sketchbooks. Plus, minimal cost, excellent brush, and no one I know is afraid to take it outside.
    Those Tintoretto look like they want me to try one. 😊 Thanks for the suggestion.

    This was fun. Thank you! I’m on the hunt for a flat travel brush (a bright preferably) for gouache. It’s my holy grail at the moment. For travel quills, if one is in Europe - the Series 700 from Borciani e Bonazzi also looks very promising. They are an Italian company that makes high quality, cruelty free brushes. I have a couple of their brushes for acrylics & love them. Don’t blame me…😂

    I love the Casaneo quill No 2 so I bought the travel version. I agree that it’s a bit chunky and I wish they would do the No 0 version as a travel brush. My other travel brush is more of an all rounder, a No 6 round brush from Rosemary & Co (I think from the Red Dot line?). It has a metal casing that is slightly thinner than I find comfortable, but it’s a lovely brush. From the thickness I would prefer something in the middle. I will definitely look into the Tintoretto sword brush, it does look like it’s fun to use!

    this is very useful for me as I've wanted to try one of the Tintoretto travel brush on Jackson's! those brush that looks like a dagger brush in a way are so interesting. I think they're great for florals

    I use the escoda Perla/Jackson’s Artica for gouache and watercolor. Perlas even come in 1/4” dagger and filbert. If I need something for a lot of water I use the Versatil 12 or 16 size. I also have Princetons. I hate the metal on the elites, the neptunes are fine but the largest size is 10.

    ok that’s extremely useful info. i was going to get the huge quill but when u spoke of it being quite tight and not having strong hands, i think i better not buy it. i recently just got myself tintoretto pure squirrel travel brush number 4 and that one was already extremely tight for me. took all my energy. 🤣 thank you Irit 👍🏻

    I have two Rosemary and Co: #6 round & 3/8 dagger (both synthetic kolinsky). While I haven't used them a bunch I do enjoy them, although I was surprised the round doesnt spread out as much with applied pressure as some I've used in the past.
    I am waiting for a Silver Voyage #6 and Escoda Versatil #12 to arrive in the mail. I love Silver Black Velvets so I'm excited to get a travel one and the Versatils look great too, love they come in such large travel sizes.

    I got the #20 hummungus ...travel brush as well Irit...I just LOVE IT...I have arthritis in my hands, it was hard to open...but you don't need to shut it totally ...it is still closed...and easier to re-open, if not pushed completely shut. I also have "little ,short, chunky farmers work-hands...and found I prefersed using the brush WITHOUT the handle...feels so expressive , like a short pencil...problem was that the 4 wire "twists" were catching my fingers...solved that with a half inch width of electrical tape...double ply, straight over the wire twist areas down the whole length of the plastic covering the bristles...works like a charm...never feel those wire twisties..., no huge handle, and a lovely short pencil like brush...with a HUGE capacity...even for very fine lines, when there is less H2O...Thanks for showing us your brushes...I love my #6 dagger "Umbra" travel brush,as well as the three long dark haired , travel brushes, like the #2 you showed...I think I have a #2 #4 and #6 in the travel version of these lovely dark haired, very long and soft special brushes...Love to see you use some of these new travel brushes in a painting session, one of these days, when you feel the inkling to show them off🤗! Thanks Irit !!!!!...Janis

    Somehow I missed this video! I actually just got a couple Tintoretto travel brushes, after really loving the Feltarocco long liners. I can't really paint anymore without a sword, or something expressive and fine (thanks to you LOL). And then I ordered a couple more from A. Gallo on Saturday when they restocked -- the giant mop, the travel long liner, and the flat. I've already got the travel Ambra (I LOVE the case) and a size 12 kolinsky, which is clearly the finest brush I own. I am so impressed with this brand and it's practically unknown in the US or on English-speaking TH-cam. Thanks so much for making us aware of this amazing brand. I was able to find a shop in Portugal called ArtOnly who provided free and fast shipping to the US. By the way, the long liner (which A. Gallo calls the long mop) is just as fine in the big brush as in the small and it holds an amazing amount of pigment!

      Right?? How could we paint before sword brushes?? I don't know! I totally agree about Tintoretto, super impressive brand with gorgeous brushes. I need to do another underrated art supplies video featuring them!

      @@iritlandgraf I just learned over the weekend that they are just 20 years old as a company. I guess they are sort of new and high tech! Although all the brushes are made by hand, but it seems like they have incredible fine points, and such great selection of travel brushes. I know you're not much into natural hair, and I don't have many kolinsky, but I am so impressed by the travel kolinsky I bought! So nice on the paper.

    • @iritlandgraf
      @iritlandgraf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course not, I'm sure that info is also on the website. Price is a big factor for me when it comes to recommending supplies. It was 26€, very very reasonable for that size!

      @hannahthufvesson 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Tintoretto brushes look interesting. If you were travelling light, working from a small 8x8 sketchbook, and only had the choice of one Tintoretto brush, which would you choose?
    Cheers

      Hmmm good question! I'll think about it 😉

    • @iritlandgraf

      I think right now I would take their 1313 dagger travel brush. I am a huge fan of dagger brushes and their versatility. If one is not a fan of daggers, then probably I would take one of their #6 travel brushes in your preffered shape (flat or round). If you prefer a larger brush for a more wet application, then go up to #8. Hope that helps!
