    Time to bring the offensive master mind to tuscaloosa for real this time. Nick Saban also really wanted this guy.

    Turned us down once, walked away the second time….what are the chances he would be a long term commitment?

      He tried the NFL. It didn’t work out. He won’t be tempted to do that again I don’t think. If he leaves again it’ll most likely be for a head coach position

    • @christiancolvin615
      @christiancolvin615 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      No coordinator is a long term commitment at alabama or a top program period. Lucky to get 2 years from anyone when successful.

    • @christiancolvin615
      @christiancolvin615 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @user-tl5bk9uv8x if watch the games it waa more milroe. We had wide open receivers and he never found them and then on options kept the ball instead of handing off. He alone killed our offense. Sheridan is getting more blame then he deserves if actually watch the tape. Have the Line block decent and a QB who can move in the pocket and see a defense then Sheridan look way freaking better. Fans who always blame the OC usually don't know ball and only see touchdowns and scoreboard. Not the Xs and Os. Deboer is an offense guy he could change plays and call plays. Can't blame Sheridan that much. Milrore handicapped tje entire team and staff so it's on Deboer for not benching him.

      If a coordinator is a “long term commitment,” it’s usually not a good thing. Ideally having coordinators good enough to get head coaching jobs is what we want.

    I like the idea of Grubb, but complaints about not running the ball enough is a little bit of a red flag for me. We did not let the running backs touch the ball enough this year. Jalen was really good at running the ball, but everyone knew he was keeping it, which could keep him contained. We need to spread the ball around a lot more.

    • @tbul2598
      @tbul2598 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Milroe kept that ball almost always on the zone read; especially near the goal line. He wanted the TDs.

    • @christiancolvin615
      @christiancolvin615 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      RBs woukd of got way more if Milroe actually hands it off on the options and reads the defense but he didn't he always made the wrong reas and kept it. Milroe killed our RB room and WR room. Also hurt our o line cause he couldnt run a play how it was designed and either got happy feet and went the wrong way or stood there. Entire team couldnt do there job proper because of him. Worst QB I can remember when comes to reading a defense and playing in the pocket.

    • @reginaldhall6871

      Yes, our RB's were used like paper weights. And there was terrible clock management at times near the half & end of game

    It's clear Grubb is the missing piece to DeBoer's offense (plus having a real QB). Grubb plus Ty Simpson could be a lethal passing offense.

    There are some coaches that are made for NFL and some coaches that are made for college. I.E Nick Saban (the GOAT). Ryan Grubb could be a college coach, or he was just on the wrong NFL team. If Ryan Grubb decides to come back to T-Town, he needs to understand that running the ball in the SEC is a virtue.

      It's laughable how clueless some people are! NIL is revolutionizing football, and that's exactly why Saban left. Just ask Kirby how NIL is impacting him. Ohio State has already achieved what Kalen DeBoer is striving for-building his own team and doing whatever it takes to retain top talent. This year, DeBoer let the chips fall as they were set up by Saban, but now he can set things up his way. The first priority is to secure your current talent, which is why Alabama players are returning. Alabama is investing in the players already on their roster, and they're getting paid as they should be. By sharing the NIL money in-house, Alabama is keeping their talent right where it belongs! They will be a force next year just watch!

    Grubb: the reasons the Seahawks fired him?
    1) Poor offensive line development/performance
    2) Failure to commit to running the football--29th in the NFL with a 97.5 average rushing yards per game
    3) 18th in the NFL for points per game: 22.1/avg
    4) 21st in the NFL for 3rd down conversions
    And, although the Seahawks were 8th in the League for passing yards per game with 236.5 per game--this means nothing when there is no rush game.
    Here is a fundamental truth: the pass-game does not open up the run game, the run game opens up the pass game.
    The eye-sore of an offense that caused dismay and confusion in Tuscaloosa was synonymous with what was happening in Seattle.

    Jet travel exists for a reason …
    I for one don’t want it to come down to a choice between coaching and his family… But every family is different and people can find a way to adjust when it’s important to the family to adjust…
    But if he comes this time, I want him to be serious about staying for a little while… right now, he may be in danger of mimicking Mike Price… Our first coach from the state of Washington who failed to ever see the field.
    So, of the 4 coaches Bama has hired from the state of Washington only Kalen DeBoer has actually stepped on the filed with Crimson A on their shirt
    His one month stay in Tuscaloosa last February was like his bird in the hand fail-safe… In case he wasn’t offered the job with the Seahawks or the HC job at Washington.
    Huff did likewise
    We all are currently complaining about the lack of commitment on the part of players… I think we could probably expand that to coaches as well…

    I honestly do not think that losing to teams like Vandy, Oklahoma & Michigan, all double digit underdogs, falls on the OC. Even though offense & play calling looked terrible throughout the yr. 75% or more of the bad offense & play calling was because of having a QB, who cannot open up the offense, because he can’t complete a 5yard out, curl or screen. And he is the turnover king!! The rest of the problems, which include lack of preparation & motivation falls on Debour!!
    And next yr, he goes to Georgia, to South Carolina & to Auburn. Not to mention at FSU, which would love to beat Bama after the last 2yrs…
    Then there is Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma, Vandy with 6yr star QB, Wisconsin & at Missouri.
    Convince me he wins 10 games or more, with a new QB…..How many games will we overlook or not be motivated to play??
    Or has he learned like Shula always learned? Not to do that anymore?? Convince me that Smiley is going to just do it!!
    That he’s gonna get it done!!
    That he’s going to win 10-11 games next yr just like Saban did his 2nd yr!! So I can sleep better at night….
    So my fellow Bama fan will ask me “So who would u have hired” as their brilliant response….
    How about someone with an SEC possibly Saban tree background….
    And yes there were coaches out there that have successful resumes that would have crawled on glass to Tuscaloosa!!
    None of them, including Debour, have a NC.
    Not many coaches in this country, including Sark have a NC….But a coach like that would have been the right fit.
    May not have worked out…But a better hire than this ,about to be, disaster in my opinion!!

      Didnt say No for real. His dream job came calling in the state already lived in. Of course he takes his dream of the nfl in Seattle when he hadn't even been here long enough to love it. And maybe he knew what we had in mikroe and that no matter who coached you coukdnt fix his issues. So he said I'll take my dream job if it don't work out then I'll go back to college next year and maybe bama when they have a QB. And he didn't want to coach for Hard Ass saban when had the same position at a school that was going to the playoff and loaded. Both times it maze more sense for him to not come to bama. Now it makes sense for him to come to bama and is smart choice for him to get back to nfl or a head coach job.
