Can someone answer this question for me. When sonny said that lily has been through the toughest times of his life what does he mean. I guess brenda given him a blood transfusion and saving his life means nothing...
@@sageadvice157 Brenda was there from jump street in Sonny's rise in power. The whole time Sonny was married to L**L**, her father held all his mob power and told him to focus on his daughter and making him some grandkids. So, not tough times there, so he had to be speaking about Stone's death and lil Robin was there for that support.
@@MyDymin It is Stone's death but also the aftermath of the wire and his break from Brenda. He was destroyed from the perceived betrayal that he never imagined would happen with him and Brenda, his true love. He was broken and then dealing with Stone's AIDS simultaneously. She FrogFace made herself available to him. HE said many nights she stayed up holding him because he couldn't sleep. The difficulty walking away from her was feeling disloyal to her.
HAHAHA That is sooooo true!!! But that line has always bothered me!! It never made much sense to me unless he meant that she helped get him out of jail! Oh who knows.LOL
@ghlusam - "What caused the turnaround? How did he become the chaser?" After Lily died... all of a sudden he realized he wanted Brenda back. Check out "Brenda visits Sonny after the NB part 1"... then check parts 2 and 3. Then the scenes after that if you can find them.I think that was the beginning of Sonny realizing he wants Brenda back. Then check out "GH Sonny and Brenda 1997" he kinda explains why he wants her back. Hope that helps:-)

Oh yes that's how she knows hes in trouble who knows she's in trouble because they did that blood transfusion she gave it to him and she got some of his blood that's the thing that gets them in the gut.
i believe he meant the wire aftermath and his percieved betrayal by brenda.sonny is claustrophobic and he would have committed suicide before he went to jail;so he felt that lily saved his life by helping him to elude the law.he was grateful to boring lily but that could only go so far.he still wound up wanting to leave the albatross he married.
This is a good assessment. Makes sense why he did what he did. Fundamentally Sonny was always a man who felt backed into a corner and made decisions to survive...
@mwerner1020 - I just think Sonny was trying to constantly convince himself how much he **cough**cough** LOVED lily **cough**cough**... because he knew he had to spend the rest of his life with her. In his mind he HAD to love lily and not like brenda so much.
@Black2295 - Nah... (I believe) he admitted in an episode that he couldn't commit suicide on himself.. so I think he'd face jail before trying to kill himself. If he could kill himself, I think he would have done it by now.
When Sonny was speaking with Jason. He told him if he went to jail/prison he would kill himself. When he was talking to Brenda about Lily's death, he wanted to die because of the guilt but couldn't kill himself because it was a sin. I think maybe when speaking to Jason he meant the emotional overload from the claustrophobia would make him lash out and kill himself and/or anyone around him. He got over his phobia after he escaped from the cave.. he told Brenda when they were on the run and needed to go into hiding. "I dunno, It just left me"

I know right. But he's was talking about during Stone's sickness and death.
His rise to power in the mob...hell she's the reason he partially did due to her dad Rivera.
