    Thank you for sharing your experience. What is the name of this onsen? We are planning a Japan trip in Fall and is looking for a nice onsen with private bath. Thanks!

    Did you both fit in the private bath? :D
    I booked this yesterday and immediately recognised the fire pit, wondering if me and my partner will fit in the onsen together heh..
    What was the travel to this hotel like? I know its abit of the trek according to reviews..

      Yes you can both fit but it will be a bit squishy! It’s close to the cable car but it will be quite difficult with luggage so maybe a taxi if that’s the case

    Since we’re traveling in a group, can we have bathing suit on in our private onsen?

    • @CheapEatsSyd
      @CheapEatsSyd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, bathing suits are still not allowed in a private onsens… maybe check out some of the theme park onsen places there is one in Hakone !

    450 is insane...are there Ryokans like this under 100$ or is that hard to find?

    • @CheapEatsSyd
      @CheapEatsSyd  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tbh ryokans are traditionally more expensive as they have more inclusions and service, so probably nothing under $100 for this kind of experience unfortunately!

      Staying in a ryokan right now. Paid around 150 per night.
      If you want to experience an authentic stay, try: Yamadaya in Gora.
      In price included: shuttle service, breakfast, dinner and onsen. Its right next to the rope line! It has a private onsen which you can seperatly rent. Since the hotel onsen was most of the time empty, I used it all alone :)

      There are absolutely cheaper Ryokans that are still very nice. They just might be in more rural areas and harder to get to.
      I did a motorcycle trip on Shikoku and stayed at a ryokan in the Iya valley for about $150 a night. That included their onsen, dinner and breakfast for two people.

      Have fun! We left our luggage with a courier company for 3 days (which was delivere to another hotel on the day we got back) and took some Backpacks to Hakone (lots of hills) and we used the Romance Car service which cost us around $20AUD each to get there quicker than the standard JR trains. We also used a 3 day Hakone pass which covered all transportation costs at Hakone for 3 days inc cable car and the massive Ferry!

    • @MIHA1106

      Perfect! Thank you so much. Did the hotel provided a shuttle to and from the station?
      We are looking into going to Lake Kawaguchi from Hakone to see Mt Fuji so we are pondering if renting a car is out best option or we can reply solely on public transport. Any advice on that?

      Fellas is it racist to pronounce stuff correctly?
      I bet you pronounce Jalapeño as Jalloppino or Queso as kwuaso.

      I studied in Japan for 6months. Japanese speakers literally CAN NOT understand you if you say Japanese or even English words using an English accent. For them to literally understand you, you need to say everything using a Japanese accent. This is NOT racist, it’s proper communication and proper respect to the native language. It shows you are putting effort into understanding the culture.
      ALL native speakers around the world, regardless of the language, prefer you to “say it properly.” It’s not even really an accent, it’s the REAL way to say the names of things in another language.
