Thank you so much for making this video! Rice water contains rain water! OH wow that's interesting to know! I will defiantly collect rain water the next time it rains! I love using rice water in my hair overnight in addition to my deep conditioner. I love using rice water. I use rice water 1x a week. Rice water has deeply softened my hair so much.
How long can I hold onto one batch at a time? Is it a must that the mixture be contained in a glass container vs a plastic container? Can I use lemon peels if I don't have grapefruit?
good video, gonna share with my friend who is doing this for the first time. btw, how long did you make it sit and ferment? The Yao women leave it for up to a month. The Yao women use "tea seed cake" - The Tea seed cake is the residue of tea seeds (also named camellia seeds) after camellia oil extraction.
I got lost in the recipe. You poured how many cups of water in the rice after you clean the rice. And you poured a brown powder that I think is the green tea, and then how much of the oil? Could you wrote the recipe on the screen?. Thanks for sharing.
1 cup of white/sticky rice rinse rice first like you usually would, then drain add 4 cups of distilled/springwater to rice Soak for 30 minutes rub/"wash" the rice for 5 minutes (water should look milky/white) pour rice water into pot, add fresh pomelo or grapefruit peel, about 2 tablespoons of tea seed powder*, about 2 tablespoons of oil of your choice* bring to boil, then once it's boiling, take off the stove. pour boiled rice water and peels in your jar, seal it. Yao women say to leave the jar in a cool dry place (ideally without sunlight so you aren't introducing humidity) for at LEAST one week, some leave it for up to 2 weeks, or 3 months. I wouldn't push 3 months, personally. *i'm guestimating how much she used, but it looks like it's about two tablespoons, go with what your heart tells you hehe
Hello kandy ma'am Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It's so helpful. I used rice water for a while, thn stopped because it was really drying my hair out but I saw some changes at least my hair line came out a bit. But what if we can't get the sticky type of rice you mentioned? Also, what other tea powder can I use apart from green tea,can I use coffee powder?😥 Then, after finishing the whole process is it a must I keep it in a jar,can I use a plastic bottle instead? Then, how many days will I leave it to ferment before using it or do I start using it immediately? If I am not able to get a grape fruit due to the place I stay, can I use orange?
hello, If you're experiencing dryness then add olive oil to your rice water and then after the treatment use cream base moisturiser to make sure your hair is properly moisturised. starchy rice seem to be the best but you can use any rice you have available. no you cant use coffee but if you have any other tea powder, that would be a better choice. I ferment mine for a week before use but if you can leave it longer then even better. I believe grape fruit should be easy to find, it doesn't have to be the Chinese grape fruits used in the video. I hope this was helpful.
Hello Mam, can u plz 🙏clear my 1 doubt that is which Rice Water is best for hair soaked rice water which one u show in this video or cooked rice water??
It all depends on your hair, personally I prefer soaked because there isn't any heat used to alter the nutrient in the rice and I see results better with that. Hope that helps.
Hi, i want to know before you shut the jar is the water still hot or do you cool it down? I followed your recipe, but it still smells kinda bad. Thank youu
Hi, yes you can if the oils are natural oils, I like to make sure everything I use on my daughter is natural as their skin is still tender. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Hi, have enjoyed your video thanks for sharing. I have been following almost the same recipe as yours, wasn't adding green tea or castor oil, will add them. Question: how long do you ferment for minimum to maximum. Love your videos, very helpful. Thank you
Hello Penyna, The Yao women ferment between 1 week to 6 months, but since I am a beginner, I have decided to only ferment for one week until I see how my hair reacts to the treatments then I can ferment longer. I hope this helps and thank you for watching.
Hi Mam Thank you so much 😊😊😊Pls tell remedy for hyperpigmentation as i suffering from last three years and done lost of medicine and visited many dr.but not gone still the same plss tell .
You shouldn't use it multiple times a week. The yao women do it often for years, but your hair isn't used to it so don't use it more than once a week, but you should probably do every 3 weeks
Great video!! thank you!! Has anybody ever tried rice powder? I bought some organic rice powder and some aloe vera powder. You can also use these powders to make a facial mask and add ingredients like turmeric. I do know that caster oil works for growing hair and eyelashes. I use it all the time. I also use African shay butter. I did try to boil the rice water with some essential oils and some grapefruit peel. I used it for 20 - 30 minutes. The problem I had with that recipe is that it kind of stripped some color out and was a bit dry. So just keep that in mind that the grapefruit is a natural clarifier just like vinegar and baking soda . I also love grapefruit essential oil and I just bought tangerine. Smells yummy and helps with the smell of the rice water. I wonder if I can grow a Camillia Sinensis plant. that would be awesome cuz I have a green thumb. I am going to try the powders today and see how it works!! 😸🍊💃🍀🍀🍀🍀
The Yao Women also put Fo Ti Root in their recipe. I don't know the proportions, but they indeed do. They also allow this to sit for 2 weeks to a month to ferment, I believe out of the frig. Kandy Musa, did you say you dilute this recipe in half?
Thank you ❤ , I did use lemons or oranges instead and I add olive and castor oil to it I hope it the same ! And by the way I started using rice water for my face I prepare it the same as the hair one but I don't add anything to it I just rub the water filter it pass it through heat and that's it now what I didn't fins on internet ! Is yao women ferment the rice water for hair and Google says don't leave it ferment for more then 3 days then put it in the fridge for a use of 7 days only ! But then the yao women do the opposite so the question is for the face can I leave the rice water ferment also as long as it can like I prepare rice water once in 2 weeks so a bottle I use it the first week but another one it stays up to two or 3 weeks help me please !?
Hello Adeline, If I understand you you're asking if its okay to use lemon or oranges? I would advice you use grapefruit if you can't find the pomelo fruit I mentioned in the video. As for the rice water on your face, I haven't used it on my face before so I honestly can't advice you on that. the Yao women leave their fermented rice water for over a month so you can do the same then use it every 7 days if that's what works for you. I rinse mine on the same day so can't advise if you want to leave it for more than a day. I hope this helps. thanks for watching.
@@KandyMusa thank you Kandy 😘yeah am using fermented rice Water on m'y face I don't put it on the fridge at all and the quantity I make usually last for a week or more till I redo a new one however I'd inform u after a month or two if the rice water is good for the face or not Have a nice day 😘
