I remember the big part of that mill on fire spingmill Street side my dad had been called out to it with the demo crew. I went along it was well a blaze. At the time it was a toy mill 1996
I like learning about local history. A few years ago, I worked on Bolling Road for 10 years (it's now a girls school) & didn't know anything about it until today even though it wasn't too far away. It's sad to see how many of them were so young.
Wonderful to watch. Really interesting. I was very surprised to know nothing of this disaster. How very sad that most of the casualties were young children. Loved the way you completed the story with the mill location, the memorial and then the graves. Great job guys. Thank you 🙂
Really interesting video. I've been researching my family tree and many of my relatives living in Bradford around the time of this disaster were working in the mills, so I was interested to learn more about this. Great work xx
The numbers of the stones indicate age, and the number of colored stones preceding the numbered stone account for each person of that age that passed away in the disaster.
Just catching up on a few of your videos. National Library of Scotland has a great resource of historics maps and using their spyglass system you can see the OS1:500 Town Map from 1840s to 1890s. The chimneys were at location 416431 431890 or 53.78308N -1.75212W and 416403 431928
A well made interesting video depicting the horrible tragedy killing all those young people. Very sad but congratulations to the video makers for bringing it to the public's attention
Very interesting video,I lived at the bottom house in springhill st no 13 closest to the mill and I had no idea of the chimney fall until your video, well done guys.
Undercliff cemetery has had numerous clean ups in the past .it's about time those at the cemetery look after the graves better it's disgusting they let them get in this state shameful

Now that's interesting. We really appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

Really appreciate your time and feedback .
Thank you so much.
Fantastic video guys as always. Those numbered flagstones are the ages of the people on the memorial I'd presume?
Cheers Buddy. Yes , that seems to be the consensus. 😀
Very nice presentation, thank you.
Thanks for watching 👀
Brilliant, love to hear about our great Bradford history.
👍🏾
brilliant guys just love the bradford weather. Great interesting video again
Thanks as always for your comments
Tip when reading headstones, shine the torch across the stone from the side (not head on). This casts a shadow which delineates the script better.
Thank you
That’s ok. I helped my county family history society transcribe some 30k headstones over the years and picked up a trick or two. Best wishes.
Very interesting video,I lived at the bottom house in springhill st no 13 closest to the mill and I had no idea of the chimney fall until your video, well done guys.
Important piece of history.
So 😔 sad.
We really appreciate you watching and commenting.
Thank you.
Great Video dude nicely explained
Thank you 😊
Great video as always.
How many people living in Bradford actually take an interest in the city's history.
Exactly our point. Thank you.
Interesting video guys well done
Thanks for viewing
Great video, could the memorial stone be a piece from the top of the chimney?
Now, that would be amazing.
Thanks for watching ✌️
How awful they knew it was at risk of falling and still the workers returned to work
That's the bit I don't understand, why?
Do Google Newlands Inquest please.
Another great video guys!
Thank you
Prayers🤲for those who died
Ameen.
I'm guessing the numbers are the age of the people that died and the positioning are the bodies found in situ.
Why didn't you show the face of the statue on the moslyn grave?
Well done guys keep up good work
Much appreciated for your support. Thanks
the numbers on the stones are the ages
Are the numbers on the pavement a bar graph of the ages of people who died.
Could the numbers represent the ages? You said that the oldest victim was 50 years old and the numbers go up to 50. Just a thought.
👍
Won't the numbers be the age of the children / people whom have died?
the number of flags down is the number of that age range ?
Just a guess
Interesting point. Thanks for watching 👀
It does match the age. 8 being the lowest and 50 the highest. Matches the memorial.
Surely the numbers on the paving stones are the ages of the victims
👍🏾
Lovely
Some of the victims may have been the same age
Please allow a little more time so we an fully read the informative script you flash up.
Thank you 👍🏾
Will do.
Undercliff cemetery has had numerous clean ups in the past .it's about time those at the cemetery look after the graves better it's disgusting they let them get in this state shameful
