    I'm a self-employed truck driver (no salary) means if im not driving I don't earn. But tech sales seem sweet bc the salary plus commission and if I overachieved leads to more freedom, and funds all while not traveling for weeks at a time. I have to make the jump

    • @TechBagTrey
      @TechBagTrey  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes sir! And if you get in the right spot you can still travel for weeks at a time but a different type of traveling. Definitely something to look into.

    Ha! QA Automation Engineer here! 🙋🏽‍♀️
    EDIT: I love that you discussed UX Design. It’s a “newer” role/lane in IT. I’m trying to push my daughter into UX Design because she’s artsy and techie. She also has a little coding under her belt.
    As far as AI stuff - I’d say that “prompt engineer” is a new breakout role, but I personally don’t think it this role has much longevity. AI will be around, but prompt engineering is something that most tech folk can get trained up on in 2-3 hours.

    • @TechBagTrey
      @TechBagTrey  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ayyeee!

    • @loveloyalty563
      @loveloyalty563 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I heard it's very difficult to find a job as an QA Engineer right now. Is that true, is it still a good career path to pursue.

    • @TechBagTrey
      @TechBagTrey  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @loveloyalty563 If it is more difficult, I believe if you are still strategic in your route you can still get there at the right company.
      Letting the company know you are interested in that role can allow you to go and get cross trained and when the role is available you can move over. Or take the things you are learning and speak to those in interviews at other companies that have the role open.

    Great video, thank you for everything.
    I’m currently stuck between pursuing IT self help desk role or Tech sales.
    I heard IT is stable income with a lot of flexibility and I heard sales is first to get laid off and crazy hours with inconsistent income. Would love to hear your thoughts!

      You can’t go wrong with either really. Might depend on what you feel you might like better.
      You work during the week during open work hours as an entry level SDR. You don’t have to put in crazy hours. I spoke on sales being the first to get laid off in this video.

      It really depends on your end goal.
      You can get another job as a customer success manager with higher pay or you can go to SDR/BDR and have the opportunity to scale that way.

      @@TechBagTrey Cool you hit me back..! So listen man I’ve had all kinds of jobs from landscape to working on the pipeline. Now mind you from 12yrs old til about 20 I was on the pc 24-7 throughout those yrs I’m 36 now and I’ve been wanting to move into the Tech world more specifically Cyber.. I mean I catch on to things super quick and if you were me how would you approach it.? Like can you kind of run down the steps. I dont know where to start and so I kind of feel overwhelmed and I def don’t want to do the unnecessary stuff if it’s not in my best interest ya know. I would appreciate it a lot thanks man
