Incorrect. If you're riding in your aerobars correctly, you should be gently pulling up on them (driving the elbow into the pad) so the right hand actually puts a counter clockwise torque on the tape. The video is correct.
I've tried wrapping the bar tape on the aerobars in both directions over the years and it doesn't matter, any direction works fine, the tape stays tight. I keep my hand grip on the aerobars light to prevent tension from traveling to the arms and shoulders.
So I hold my aero bars on the corner usually where you put the electric tape. After a few rides, the electrical tape starts moving around looking all messy. Any suggestions on how to fix that?
Surely it makes sense to wrap up the bars instead of down? You know, because cyclists are all about aerodynamics and now you've got the seam facing into the wind. You'll just need a wrap of electrical tape at the end to finsih it off.
There is reason why it is done this way. They are wrapped this way because how the hands put pressure on the bars/tape. Wrapping up the bars would leave the exposed edge of the bar tape towards the rider. The hands tend to push forward when hold the bars, and the edge with start to roll up after time.

Great video. Inside out electrical tape before the tape helps hold it on too.
Shouldn't the tape be wrapped in the other direction ? It seems more logical since the right hand for example will twist the bar clockwise.

You could Wrap the tape further along the aero bars

I have used Fizik tape and it rocks!!
Don't use electric tape for bars. The glue degrades very rapidly from the sun and sweat. Use silicone tape which is self adhering without glue.
would helicopter tape be ok? i have also noticed the electrical tape is the first point of failure
