I'm thinking of buying a BEELINK SER6 soon-- and hopefully can get this to work on IT-- and eventually get a phone it will work on also (but they're EXPENSIVE!!!) I can't understand why they can't make it to work on ALL computers-- phones, etc. regardless of what it is..-- oh well- lots of crap I don't understand.. :)
On one laptop I still have Pop_OS 21.04, the other one I just migrated over to Debian 11 which is where I am taking all my systems. The older laptop with Pop will be moved sometime this weekend or next.
@@CyberGizmo really? I use debian myself, usually testing or unstable branches. Let me rephrase my initial question, whats was your daily driver on your personal laptops for the the last 10 years?
@@Tatar_Piano I used Fedora mostly up until 2019, been a long time CentOS server user as well (also RedHat to some degree), moved over to initiall Pop_OS, and when RedHat discontinued CentOS started looking for a replacement and chose Debian. I prefer to keep my distros the same, makes it easier to maintain.
@@Tatar_Piano A Good start is "The Debian Administrator's Handbook" you can get it free right here debian-handbook.info/ (Electronic Version) or Buy the hardcopy, probably the best guide out there. The other one is "unix and linux system administration handbook" but it will set you back about $60 USD. Howver the advice I followed when I started out on UNIX was take one command and learn how to use each option of it. (at the time I did it it took me about a year to complete, but was worth it) Not only did I learn all of them I started using them on a daily basis
Hello! Thanks to the video! Please make video about your PC hardware and sowtware and how you make videos (backstage). I think it will be very interesting to me and others. Regards!
I'd LOVE to try this-- but it won't even BOOT on my machine- I get a " WARNING MISSING FIRMWARE" crap-- and a bunch of that trash-- I've made sure all that stuff is as up to date as I can GET IT-- and all enabled, etc... so that warning is BS...
Hi David, I have run into that recently after looking over the purism wiki, it shows that message as being an indication that your machine is using devices with non-free firmware, and Purism will not work with those, examples are NVIDIA and Broadcom. Here is the URL:tracker.pureos.net/w/troubleshooting/missing_firmware/
