Thank you so much. This has been invaluable in getting me started. Had a fairly urgent project assigned to me, so learning Power Apps from zero in a hurry. This video has jumped me along the right path by *weeks*. Appreciate your time in making it, and have subbed. Great work, many thanks.
Hello, I need to field a text input field in a form with the id's scanned by the Barcode. But I can't seem to make it work. I've tryed other similar videos but either the variable or the collection dosen't work when I copy the exact same code. And I don't undersantd the erros
This was great, thank you! Is there a way to see the history of each time a barcode was changed - and what information was changed? I haven't started using Power Apps yet, but this gave me some great ideas to start. Now doing a deep dive on the channel lol
You would need to create records of the barcode status, write them to a list or table. Then you could lookup or filter those records later. Lots to learn but it is possible
Hi Shane! have you had any problems for the barcode scanner not working in ios? Have one setup and working great in android and window(default values) but ios isnt working and leaves the barcode field blank.
I just built a brand new one and published it to my iPhone 14. It works. I used Last(BarcodeReader1.Barcodes).Value in a label and I see it. Not sure why not working for you. 😢
@@ShanesCows I think its with the most recent ios update. Similar forums saying it worked fine but just stopped collecting the Value field. It shows the barcode type from the scan.
Thanks, for this. I made a complete inventory app connected to an Excel table like this. Although, I have one issue I can't seem to fix. The records update fine after scanning and adjusting. But when I scan the same code again directly after the edit. It returns the old values. I have no idea how to fix this. Would you have an idea how to fix this?
This was great, and exactly the help I needed. Do you have any idea what features require a premium license? I have made a much more complicated app and my users didnt need a premium license, so its strange.
Premium licenses are mostly about the data source, not the complexity of the app. So if you made a super complex app using a standard data source (like SharePoint) then standard licenses are good. But if you make a really simple app and use a premium data souce (like Dataverse or SQL) then you need premium licenses for everyone. Hope that helps
Very good video, congratulations Shane, as always, but, does PowerApps have any functions planned for RFID, by radio frequency, which is the technology that medium and large companies are using???
YOu could make a screen that had a gallery of all of the assets. Then click on the asset and have an editing experience. I think that would be normal. :)
is there a way to allow like multiple items to go under 1 number (even if i select that number) and it gets like a decimal point like 123.1, 123.2, 123.3 ?
does anyone else get an error when programming the arrow up and down icons? I've been following the video to a T and have my sharepoint set up with corresponding fields but for some reason the following forms. don't work... any help would be greatly appreciated Set(varQty, varQty + 1); Set(varQty, varQty - 1);
Can you please make a video on preventing data / variables from carrying over to other forms within custom SharePoint forms? Sometimes when I create a new form or edit an existing one data carries over unless I refresh. I will pay for this video 👉👈

Glad it helped and good luck on your peoject. 🤩
a straight forward video... love it. Thank you Shane.
Appreciate it. 🤩 Have a great day!
Thank you so much for this Shane. I have been trying to do this for months. (I'm just an Accountant by the way)
Awesome. My minor was accounting, loved the logic of it all, kind of like Power Apps.
This video is super helpful. Thank you Shane for doing what you do (and the way you do it!)
Glad it was helpful!
@@ShanesCows One question- How can I change a picture that has already been uploaded for a given asset tag?

Sorry, I haven't ran into that. Hmmm
A few more gems in there (even if I don't have a use case for the barcode reader). Thanks as always Shane 💥💥💥💥
Happy to help. Yeah, there is a lot of little tricks hidden in there for making an app have less moving parts, thanks for noticing.

Not that I know of. Sorry
I love this app, I have a silly question though! Is there a way to edit the asset after it's been saved without having to scan the barcode again?

Hi Shane. When is the next office hours? Have a few questions regarding this APP
If you have a training account here with office hours training.powerapps911.com/courses/video-library it will be August 15th.
Is it possible to view IFC-File (Industrie Foundation Class ) in power App ? Thx for your Great content 👍
Not that I know of but I have never looked either. You might need to create your own PCF control to do so.
can it be scanned and then viewed online from the pc to make the sale?
Nice video! I did as shown and can't get the spinner to show.
See if this video helps with the spinner

@@ShanesCows thanks! that did the trick, but now there's a forever spinner ha

Set(varQty, varQty + 1);
Set(varQty, varQty - 1);
That looks correct to me. Sorry it isn't working.
Thank you Shane

very very very goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
Thanks 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Hi Shane, when i try to update the image. It won't work with the code you provided in Update Asset, why? Variables like VarQuantity does work.
That is because the order of the UploadedImage "Image" value is wrong
Glad you figured it out. 😎
@@ShanesCows Is there a reason why you use Set(varRecord; Patch(.....
Instead of patch only?
Thank you!

What if OnNew and OnEdit you set the variables to blank so that way every time it starts fresh?
@@ShanesCows Doesn’t work always. Sometimes the variable needs to be set to thisitem.column and you can’t use thisitem there.
No need for pictures
