Thanks for posting. Great content. Are Productivity series PLCs hard to program? I've been using the click PLC for years but have never used another model from A.D.

      Hi Jay,
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it.
The Productivity Series provides a platform for any job that you may have. The series includes the P1000, P2000 and P3000 controllers. They all program using the same free fully functional Productivity Suite Program.
The main difference between the Click and Productivity as far as programming is the Tag Database. Once you understand this concept, both controllers are easily programmed.
Application wise, the Click is great for discrete IO control. The productivity series is also good at this as well as PID and better communication options.
Here is a link to the P1000 series.

I hope this helps you out, Jay.
      Thanks again,

Hi Gary The only issue I am seeing is the Ramp/Soak does not check to see if the temperature has been reached to trigger the soak, it is just a total dwell time counter and regardless of the setpoint in the PID loop whether it hits temp or not the Soak will move forward. Any thoughts on having the steps be triggered when in fact the thermocouple reaches a specific temperature? Thank in advance

      Hi JK Chanel,
What I would do is to create a program in the Productivity PLC. This would compare the present value to the set value. If they are the same then start a timer. The timer end bit will then trigger the next set value to be set. This can repeat until the end of the cycle.
Indirect addressing may help you out with changing different set points.
