- Welcome to the next exciting chapter of our Leh Ladakh journey series! Today, we're taking you on an unforgettable adventure as we travel from the charming town of Udhampur to the breathtaking landscapes of Sonmarg via the renowned Jammu Srinagar National Highway 44.
Day 2 (12th October 2023) (Part 1) - Our day started bright and early at 7 am, as we set off from Udhampur with one goal in mind - reaching Sonmarg before 5 pm. The reason for this urgency was the advisory by the Jammu & Kashmir Police, which recommended crossing the Zojila Pass check post between 1 pm and 5 pm. It was a tight schedule, but we were up for the challenge.
As we embarked on our journey, we quickly realized that the road ahead was not without its obstacles. The highway was a busy construction zone, with ongoing roadwork at numerous places between Udhampur and Qazigund. Landslides were also a common occurrence, causing traffic jams at various points like Chanderkot, Ramban, Cafeteria Morh, Magerkot, Ramsoo, Kaskot, Dalwas, and Benihal. Despite the delays, we remained optimistic and enjoyed the stunning views of the region.
After three long hours, we finally crossed the Qazigund Benihal tunnel, marking our entry into the picturesque Kashmir Valley. Here, we took a well-deserved break to savor a delicious breakfast in Qazigund. The narrow and bustling streets of Srinagar provided us with another set of challenges, but once we left the city behind, the real beauty of Kashmir unfolded before our eyes.
The landscape transformed into a paradise of lush valleys, pristine rivers, and towering mountains. We couldn't help but be in awe of the natural wonders that surrounded us. Our determination paid off as we reached Sonmarg right on time, witnessing the serene beauty of this captivating destination.

Bro kashmir consists of many small valleys and a big main valley
Srinagar is part of main kashmir valley
We don't live on mountains we live in valleys as we have enough valley land
Our weather is like mountains but for 200 km u will not see any mountain

Those fields are of Kesar that’s the most expensive in the world. That’s because Kashmir’s ground has the most high level ground water and that water is available in Kashmir’s land only no where in the world. You tureens right from Srinagar but if you wanna explore Kashmir then you must have taken left towards Sopore, Uri side and Wular lake
