Welcome to my latest video for @Khon Kaen Den. In this video, I teach Thai numbers (0-1,000000). Don't forget, if you like this video, like subscribe and comment. Hope you enjoy, Den.
Very easy and well presented, Den. The numbers are the first thing foreigners should learn. Thai people are not very good at numbers in English, so to not misunderstand each other, you should definitely learn the numbers, up to a million. Learning the first 10 gives you a good understanding of the rest. It`s all pretty straight forward 😊😊
Couldn't agree with you more, Sarlina. If you don't know numbers it is hard to communicate! They are easy to learn but still a burden... and many westerners pronounce them incorrectly! I hope this video helps haha. I thought that this would have been a two-minute video.... it became almost 20 minutes haha. Hope it helps those who want to learn! Next video is more your style, Sarlina! Cheers, Den.
Great video !
I’ve been practicing this myself the last 30 days when paying somewhere were I just say the price in Thai. Gives a smile most of the time on the receiving person.
There you go!!!! When you say something and the person listening understands it is the best feeling in the world!!!! They UNDERSTAND you... communication! Ace feeling. In my nest vid I think I can help you expand on this! Thanks for sharing, Den.
great video, when I moved to Thailand the first thing I did was learn the days of the week and count. Great Idea for a thai language video once per week
Cheers, Gordon. Thanks for your kind words. Will be adding many more vids now... watch this space. Den.
Thanks Den. This Is a great lesson. Thank you. I hope all is well with you!
Hey, Derwin! So happy you liked it. Yeah, feeling loads better now and going to produce one Speak Thai video per week... the perfect way to learn Thai (spend the rest of the week learning it haha). Cheers, Den,
Thank you! I finally learnt the numbers! Yes i have been lazy with that 😂 now I only have to learn to use it in real-life also!
Haha... no worries. It is never too late to learn. In the next Speak Thai video, I will be walking around pointing at prices/numbers etc. so you can hear me say lots of different numbers and practise too! Thanks, Den.
Brilliant counting lesson! :-) Thanks Den
Thank you so much for your kind words, Jess... there will be many more videos out on speaking Thai very soon! Cheers, Den.
Great teaching as ever Den 👍
Thanks, Jon. Should be another Speak Thai vid out next week. Cheers, Den.
Hi den thank you for the videos In the future, I will come to live Khon Kaen my wife is from there and I need to work another two years to make it financially viable, why do not come back to visit until next November. I would like to meet you by you a cup of coffee so I can ask you some questions if you have time that is.
Any time mate.... come and meet me and will have a great time. Laters dudio.
Really good lesson Den, the eu sound in neung is a bit challenging. btw a bit off topic the ง (naa noo) sound is something I'm trying to get. Would be great to get your help with that one.
Cheers, John. OK. I will make that a lesson for sure... very soon and just for you, fella!!!! It is actually a difficult but good topic! Cheers, Den.
love ya work Den, I find these lessons so helpful seems better hearing from a native English speaker for some reason , thanks for taking the time to make these videos....Cheers Jim
Cheers, Jim! Yep. It sometimes helps learning from a native (I understand the issues that foreigners face with Thai) and I also have 17 years experience teaching Thai kids English (the other way round). So I kind of have an angle on how to do it. Gonna be making many more so keep watching, Den!
@@KhonKaenDen yeah my Wife gets frustrated with my mis tones... and laughs her ass off when I try say one or nine lol....I get her back when we use "Z" in a word ;)
@@Citizenjim61 Haha... Yeah, I still mispronounce words from time to time and the Mrs. laughs at me. I think I'll get her with the "Z" too haha. Thanks for sharing, fella.
Great job Den. I confess I struggle to remember the numbers. Would you mind next time when going shopping and get petrol perhaps you could state the prices in Thai and then English which I believe will greatly help me relate to numbers and products.
Nigel. I have fallen in love with you! BRILLIANT IDEA. I will make a video on this idea for sure and credit you for it!!! I get what you are saying as I used to have the same problem! Saying stuff out loud again and again helps... let me see what I can do! Cheers, Den!
Thanks Den you are doing a great job fair play to you as I hate shopping but it would be very useful. Don’t get involved in money conversions though as it will just add confusion just state the price in Thai then in English 👍appreciate your efforts
@@nigelbodieNB No problem. Thanks again. Den.
This is a great series, and I'm glad to hear you intend to make it weekly. But I do have one suggestion... Please stop asking me questions, because I can't answer. You keep saying Okay? Yes? Remember? In this video I counted 56 times. It's probably just me, but I find it really irritating. 55 times would be okay, but 56 ... :-) (paul)
Hi, Bert. I know you are trying to be funny. However, please note that 'OK' is often used as a discourse marker by teachers, professors and the like. Something that is even more prevalent when teaching a language to L2 students as it is one of two universal words. The other being taxi and maybe not that relevant. OK is used as a way of providing students acknowledgement/understanding that the topic/subject has moved on to the next section.
That, along with trying to teach 1,000000 numbers in one lesson leads to a lot of OKs. If you find my style of teaching irritating, remember that you are not obliged to watch my free lessons that I spend hours creating for many who love them. By the way, thank you for your comments. Cheers, Den.
I didn't think a response was needed. I was trying to help you improve your videos. You didn't agree with me. That's fine. As for "posh"... I'm from the Black Country. We don't do posh. (paul)
