The thing is: if you lose your phone, this is a BIG security risk, because if someone can guess the command, they will have access to everything.
That’s why just make it smth random and not “Open my iPhone”
if you wait 4 seconds after you swipe up in when you are customizing the gesture and then you put your code in. you can use it with face recognition.

I'm thinking of a situation where someone else has my phone and wants to unlock by holding it up to my face it to get access to my private information. I would like to be able to say a command that locks the phone and disables face ID without me touching the screen or any buttons.

Is it possible to use this facility to be able to hang up phone calls using your voice only? I am disabled and have an iPhone for emergency calls out should all else (Internet, Alexa etc) fail, but if I get through to someone's answering service/voicemail then I cannot hang up the call my end which could potentially make the emergency worse. It won’t work if your password is long 😅 I found another way tho I set my password to custom numeric then I use the same shortcut but instead of custom gestures I used insert text and I type in my password into the text box below and it works

This is a great strategy; however, my phone seems to have trouble recognizing that I press the one of the numbers twice in a row--thus, only 3 of 4 digits are entered and the phone does not unlock. I was very deliberate about making two separate presses during set up. Anyone else having this issue?

You can actually do without disabling face id.
-create new gesture
Gestures 1-swipe up
-wait and count for 3 second (cuz after 3 second the face id will disappear and appears the passcode)
Then continue the rest of the gestures. (I mean the passcode gesture) 😊

You can also just swipe up, tape where it would say "face-id" then it goes to the passcode then type in your pass code.

Btw , u don’t necessarily need to disable face ID , u just need an additional tap on (Face ID) text to open the number pad. Plus u can do it as quick as u can to make it work faster (which can also help for ppl to not have time to memorize ur password). 👌🏼👋
There’s actually no need to memorize it when just by saying unlock my iphone it will be unlocked without you needing to know the password

It’s so hard to do it on the iPhone SE because you don’t swipe up on it to open the phone you have to press the home button
