The most important use of pyrite is as an ore of gold. Gold and pyrite form under similar conditions and occur together in the same rocks. In some deposits small amounts of gold occur as inclusions and substitutions within pyrite.
Some pyrites can contain 0.25% gold by weight or more. Although this is a tiny fraction of the ore, the value of gold is so high that the pyrite might be a worthwhile mining target. Total waste of time and chemicals as only some pyrite contains gold. We assayed all the pyrite deposits in the "Pyrite Belt" (S. Spain) and while some of then had 4 g/t of Au, most didn't have even 0.1 g/t. In the ones that did contain gold, it was dissolved in the pyrite which had to be milled to a very fine powder before the gold could be extracted.

لاتستغرب المواد الاصليه عندهم والذي عندنا مضروب ،
