    • @realalexmackenzie

      No, not usually. It depends on your consulate, but they have narrow criteria as to what counts towards the "money in the bank". I went the income route last year when I got my TR, but according to the conversation I had with the consulate here, the answer was "maybe" for stocks.

      Yes and history and live on the ground 18 months+

    • @realalexmackenzie
      @realalexmackenzie 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1 year initial TR, then a renewal for 3 more years. At year 4, apply for PR. Good from there forever more if that is where you want.
      Citizenship is 18 out of the prior 24 months in the country. Must also have held TR/PR for 5 years. You could start the process and spend the first 3 years wherever you want, then move to Mexico at the start of year 4. No more than 6 months total away from Mexico for all of year 4 and year 5, then apply for citizenship. And yes, spend those 2 year prior learning to habla espanol. People call it a "call option" Plan B because you can always move to Mexico (even after 10 years of "residency") and start that 18 month clock running... unless they change the rules.

      They can, but it is up to the individual consulate to approve. My GF is Canadian born, but Asian. I am Canadian born Caucasian. We went to the same consulate several months apart. My process was smooth as can be. Her experience was night and day different (she was denied, twice, despite meeting income category). They were, to put it mildly, not the nicest to her. Not sure if there are other factors at play, but one cannot help but wonder if there is a bias against certain demographics.
