Love how clear you are with your instructions and how genuine you sound. “Make sure you’re doing everything safely”. Good on ya man. That being said, NEVER EVER EVER EVER use WD-40 unless it’s WD-40 Silicone spray. Do not use regular WD-40 unless you’re trying to add to your issues.
WD-40 was designed for Water Dispersal and has petroleum distillates which can deteriorate rubber. I use a product called Stabil rust stopper it is water based rust stopper and lubricates parts does not harm rubber or plastic
Probably redundant, but if anyone is reading the comments, use LITHIUM LUBRICANT instead. WD-40 is a degreaser and can cause unnecessary wear to your components due to friction in the long run. Sure it might work for now, but the squeaking will be back.
@@qalbi-s_Ahnfy2095 I have never been in an emergency where lubricating my suspension is the fix. Also no, you shouldn't, petroleum based lubricants are not good for your bushings

Sprayed all the suspension components on my 05' Mitsubishi Lancer with WD-40 until i get them changed and all the squeaks and knocking went away, thanks😎
Yeah that worked for about 5 mins. Gonna use lithium or silicone instead tomorrow. Edit: now that I think about it, this never made sense in the first place. No more drinking and youtube lol
This is a bad idea. WD-40 May temporarily stop squeak but in the long run it will rot out your bushings any rubber Parts should not be sprayed with a petroleum based lubricant. Look for AT-205 to spray on there.
Im no expert on suspension But i feel like its better to get the suspension replaced if u want to spend once for longer periods rather than destroying rest of your components and spending twice as much on repairs. 😅
@@xavierlopez7096 Thats because WD-40 is a temporary solution. It may eventually cause long term problems so try buying a lithium grease spray and apply that in stead. It should last much longer than a few months and wont cause any issues with rubber seals etc
As a mechanic student, i'd recommend this is NOT what to do list! It might works for a couple months but it shorten the life of suspensions. RIP suspension :(
My rear left tire is where I hear it when I’m driving slow and over a bump but lately it’s getting worse..if I press my trunk up and down I can hear it.. I guess I gotta do this till someone can help me replace shocks
Can be dangerous too if you over spray onto the disc and caliper which will result in total brake failure.Best is fix the faulty squeeky part insted of quick fixes.
what about I need an emergency solution with no available sprays of this kind? can I use any kind of lubricant like old mobil(engine oil) to lubricate my suspensions for a small while?
DONT DO THIS. This is a wet lubricant. It will collect dirt and grime and cause excess wear. WD 40 is really for clean or sealed environments. Maybe use a dry lubricant like graphite.

Can you elaborate? what will happen, scientifically?
You should never spray wd-40 on anything in your suspension. It will destroy all your rubber parts. Terrible advice.
What about brake cleaner
Use silicone instead
@@Fatbodypyle will it help? Tell me so I can try
Not only that but it’s not a lubricant, it’s a solvent. It may work temporarily but it won’t hold up in a car environment. Use some silicone spray.
@@Ep3homda DONT EVER DO THAT. That will dry out the rubber or remove grease which is needed fir lubrication.

does silicone spray also work?
WD stands for water displacement
Wd40 worked on my door hinges. Thanks for the bandaid fix. I was looking for somebody that had good advice though.
vid starts at 1:56
Shouldn't use wd40 as its not a lubricant but penetrative spray. Better to use silicone lube spray
It might not be as good of a lubricant as silicone spray but it does have lubricating properties.
WD-40 has a Specialist silicone lube
@@jeffwang6460 I know I own both
WD stands for “Water Deterrent” it’ll rust out your metal. Silicone for sure

Correct. This video is fine except for the medium used. White lithium all the way.
yea lithium/silicon grease is best for rubber

I think white lithium spray is one a lot of people use too for this.
Use silicon wd 40. Reg wd40 will eat the rubber
Wouldn't wd40 make it worse eventually due to more friction
I recommend lithium Grease instead of wd 40 to prevent the eating of your bushings and rust
Very informative hand and can waving video. I now know how to wave my hand and a can.

Use olive oil cooking spray it works very good in cases like this, But Wd-40 will work for a short time because when it drys it wears out
