it doesnt matter how heavy a damn engine in a 240 weighs these cars have tons of after market support to cope with virtually any issue, besides theres lots of 240s that drift perfectly with v8 engine swaps. plus the s chassis are very beefy up front naturally by research
98-00 Lexus SC400 motor would be great. Thats what I have in my silvia.Its not turbocharged like the sr20det but it produces 300hp and 300 lbs of torque.Engine performance is very similar to that of the Supra 2jz turbo engine,except its not turbo
Naturally aspirated you can do simple Kelford cams, head port and polish, intake manifold port and polish, intake, full exhaust. Mild tune. Alternatively, you can run ITB's for more throttle responce. If you go boost, make sure to get the phase 1 or first generation 1uzfe which has stronger/thicker rods, and either supercharged or turbocharged will create power, every motor has its limits.
as much as I like the 1uz it belongs in some kind of toyota like a pickup, old celica, or ae86 corolla for a 240sx the ls1 works better because its a universal engine

Doesn't sound like this is the US and cost wise, US has the cheapest price on US motors compared to other countries where you can buy Toyota V8s from junk trucks.
Just because you slaped in another engine with more cubic inches dose not meen you are going to have more horse power under the hood with out tuning and balancing it too.
so youre saying swapping a bigger v8 into a car that came with a 4 cylinder wouldnt make more power than it did? lol even without tuning it would make a huge difference stock KA dual cam made 140hp on a good day and im talking a healthy KA compared to the 1uz that makes 270 hp and around 250 tq and weighs less than a 100 lbs more , that car is definitely going to be alot faster ,,, and yes i know the comment is 3 years old
