Brian Griffin Instructing Chamber Orchestra Students

Have you ever wondered what goes on during your student’s orchestra rehearsals? Take a peek! Several weeks ago, I attended a session where guest artist Patrick Clifford from Palm Beach Atlantic University was working with our students. During this session Mr. Griffin was describing the characteristics of Baroque music, which uses movement, contrast, and attempts to grip the audience’s attention. As he “danced” to demonstrate the flow of the music I pulled out my camera - and missed it! But what you will see is his “blowing out the candle” analogy and attempts to get the students to “sing” to show emotion, movement, and dynamics.
