10:45 Some of my vocal students tend to try way to hard to keep a good posture or they tend to work too hard on tightening muscles to ‘push out’ their voices, which results in them straining their voices, tightening all of their muscles, also keeping their jaw too tightly etc. So breath can’t flow freely and they are generally working too hard in the wrong areas. Whenever I see this happening, I make them lay down on the floor and tell them to mimic a relaxed, sleepy state and that they have to imagine that their voice is coming through their body from the floor beneath them. It’s to make someone aware of the power and vibrations of their own bodies. Your voice is created within your body and not something that you create when it’s already left your mouth (I hope it makes any sense in the way I describe it here 😌✨) Sometimes, to practice breath support when someone struggles breathing relaxed and lower in their bodies, I tell them to lay on the floor too, put a book on their ‘solar plexus’ and instruct them to raise the book when they breathe in and keep it up while singing a note. It has helped a lottttt of them to really find their breath support and even the kind of voice they didn’t know they had! Long story, but whatever! Had to share this :) Ah man, when I think of those moments it makes me so so so grateful for my job ❤️ Keep up what you are doing too, Tristan. Your feedback is insightful to me too and I always love seeing how your passion for voices shines through in your videos. Much love!

All good but Adele is who she is for good reason. You can't duplicate the original inspiration and emotion that comes through Adele's voice when she sings it. More so than anything previous from her. A unique vibration is created.
Your comment about the woman lying down whilst singing and how position doesn’t signify much made me think of Pink. I remember hearing her say in an interview that she started doing a lot of her acrobatics during her performances mainly because she feels she sings better, easier, when she’s upside down. I loved that! Our voices are not just our vocal chords, they are our entire bodies engaged to produce these sounds. Whatever makes you feel comfortable to get that sound out, go for it (without pain, of course)!
These people aren’t living the words of the song. They are mainly in love with their tone and riffs and I don’t think they even appreciate the message of the lyrics
