I know I'm in the minority here but I don't think these events are bad. I play a lot of games that do this. Really this 8 weeks is 2 day a week, 1 if you can do both quest in the same day. I will say though that happy at home was a bit better in the sense that you just had to turn on the game for a few seconds, where this one, you seem to need to actually play. I know a lot of us suffer from fomo, I think I'm just so used to missing out on things that I just don't care anymore because so many games I play release limited-time content at a rate that's impossible to keep up with and require real money As for the missing items from the first event... Yeah that's pretty bad idk why they did it the way they did. It's really stupid on their part and I'm glad people are complaining about that

I got two grimaphone wtv yesterday when my sim was dumpster diving and it had the little reaper event tag on it. I felt like I cheated without actually cheating haha

Actually it is just fair to drop the rewards as an SDX drop for everyone because of the difficulties we had for example i got the event one whole month later than it should have taken place...
me too + while deleting some broken cc/mods i mustve accidentally deleted the files for the reward items since theyre saved locally which is sad bc i did all that and cant get them back again😭😭😭
I am not really a fan of the Event Rewards thing, thought I am intrigued by the Grim Reaper quest mini game, I would rather get the items through the Sims Delivery Express, than having to log in every week.
I agree. I hate the obligation to have to sign in at a certain period. Especially for free stuff. People have family things, I have been in hospital for long periods for myself and family members and so didn’t have access to any computer let alone my computer to sign in, and missed out on things. The sims was about making a world and family and lifestyle everything where YOU are in control. Logging in when they state to is the opposite of that
And to top it all off, the quest bubbles are completely broken! I can't see the quests, so I guess I'm just not allowed to participate in this one. Wow.

I don’t have time to do all of these quests. Most of us have a life other than playing games. Why do they even want us to play a broken game? It gives error codes constantly these latest days. They could just give us all of these free content items in a SDX drops. We would eventually LOG IN to check/look/test the items when we have free time.
I actually like the idea of them giving us challenges to do in the game especially for rewards. I’m usually wondering around not knowing what to do with my sims since the game isn’t based on objectives and more of do your own wtv.
This was not a problem with the older games and just highlights the fact that 4 fails as a life sim so they have to do nonsensical gameified events instead to distract you from how boring the game is

EA releases something that's broken... Why is anyone surprised? I'd genuinely be more blown away if they ever release something that works how it's meant to the first time.

I WAS super excited for this. Spent hours in cas and build mode setting up a new world to play in. Entered live mode and I literally can’t see the tasks. The event banner is there, but no quests are listed. Thought it might have been a mod conflict so although I was frustrated, I turned off all mods and got a new sim off the gallery to play base game. Still not there. Lol. I literally can’t access the quests.
I'm still having this issue actually. It worked for maybe an hour, and then the individual quests just disappeared. So I can't finish the first two quests for all the rewards for this week. I'm ready tired of EA at this point.
This whole thing is confusing me because I just played for 20 minutes and had no pop ups until I checked the starting time-- which is in about two hours at 9am pacific time.

Pass, they stuffed many Aussies (and other countries) around with the last login event by not starting it until the very last day of the not clearly indicated 'rollout'. So I'm doubly not at all interested in playing stupid sidequests or taking time out to login each day/week to obtain items that may or may not unlock.
Tried playing the rewards today and it's completely bugged. Seems a lot of people including myself on a PC Sims group on Facebook are all having issues not being able to complete the quests. When it tells you to plant snapdragons and Lily's after trying to plant inside and outside it doesn't clear the quest and you don't get the reward. Everyone has tried with and without mods. Restarting their games planting outside inside in planters and in the dirt and it doesn't work.
Once I realized that the preorder items that come with an up and coming expansion set is only available then and to never ever be released even well after the pack has come out is really telling on how these companies really think of you and what they truly value as a whole 🤔
I totally agree with you Matt they should give it to us either make it a lot or make it as like stuff pack or give it to us as delivery express there's a lot of people out there probably are so busy to even play and don't have time for just logg into their accounts for the rewards. The happy at home event... I have copies of the file in another folder, on an external drive, on Google drive and Drop Box. I think that I'm safe. The Super Fruit was once a reward for an event. It's now base game. Same for several other items. So, not only making the reward items available after some time a good idea, it have already been done.
I lost all my excitement and I have low expectations for the new expansion pack. It seems like there are issues with everything and it never ends. It’s depressing
Or if you're like me, my mods take over two weeks to be fully updated, and constant patches to fix broken stuff makes it take longer. Sometimes I end up going months between play sessions because of this.
mine wouldn't complete the "assistant to the grim reaper" guest ( planting a lily and a snapdragon flower) i made sure to plant them under a roof to keep in season and NOTHING! its just not registering?
Might aswell give the rewads out for free using the sdx drops like you said after a week or so of the event ending. The fact they are still gonna make more content on a broken and out dated base of this game for possibly 10 more years is diabolical
Thanks for the video, I was playing Sims 4 and idk if I had the EA App opened or not, I didn't receive any Grim Reaper Event or Task, nor any reward yet. I need to save my game, close it, open the EA App and reopen my game. I agree with you completely, they should really really really make the rewards inside a sim delivery and give it to us for free. I'm playing Palia too, and I still couldn't see the Autumn Awakening Update because of the Grim Reaper Event, that didn't even appeared to me. I played from 12am (afternoon) till 5pm and I still didn't got any Event or reward. Well with the latest update on September 18, I lost the first rewards from June.. thank god Reddit has a post with the link where to get the file. This is crazy how you can lose them even when updating the game 😡
This is similar what we have in Warframe, you log in and you get a random daily reward on milestones you get special mods, weapons, items otherwise the game does not force you to do so basically once you start log in you will get items eventually. The worst iterations of the system when you skip a log in then all the stuff resets. This game is beyond repair and they do want to make a live service game from this. EA never learns. They should have been making a sequel and try this model with the good examples. Actually making a game what they do not sell by piece by piece but actually finish it and then make additions for small payments. With that probably they could have been earn a better reputation also a better engine is giving more possibilities. I personally deleted the Sims 4 long ago so not really care about much.
I played Super Sim Challenge the whole day yesterday when the event suddenly started in the evening. I started doing the event. First, when I planted flowers they didn't check as done in the event window. Then, I couldn't even open the event menu to receive rewards (probably because of the ui mods I have).
Since the last patch update my game will not play at all, it keeps saying error reinstall your game and I’ve uninstalled reinstalled over and over again and it still doesn’t work, I don’t know what to do at this point I am not computer savvy so I guess playing The sims 4 is over for me now😔🤷🏽♀️
I'm worried about the rewards for console players, while, every so ofter EA wants you to sign in, you don't always get that pop up. My concern is that I'll do the event, but not be able to claim my reward and every official thing I've read hasn't mentioned the console. To elaborate, I started playing sims early 2023 and EA initially had be log into my EA account to play. It's been well over a year and about a month ago the prompt returned. But when I played games like Dragonage the prompt always pops up, every time you go to play the game (dragonage is also EA it's an example to show I think the Sims EA login is broken on console)

I lost all my happy at home rewards by accident I had to delete my game and re download it and I realized that I lost all of it and I was pissed because I logged in Everytime and claimed everything and I didn’t know you had to back it up I just thought like anything else it just stayed in your game like everything else… so I’m glad they are doing it now but I want my happy at home stuff!! Hmm, what about the error that doesn't allow you to even play the game? I have this issue since the update that when I want to START the game I get this error message: "Wrong game configuration. Reinstal the game." I did that a few times, checked my graphic card and all and nothing. Mods removed, saves removed(copied), even tray files and still nothing. Does anyone else have this issue? Is anyone else having a glitch where you don't have any traits in CAS? I don't have any traits in my game. The sim will have traits once you go into gameplay but I can't see them until then
Opens up The Sims 4 to claim reward. Finds out that the entire EA app has seemingly disappeared from my PC. Or at least cannot be located by shortcuts nor related things like The Sims 3... which I played last night... Manually finds the EA app's file folder and notices an absence of a relevant .exe file. The installation file has a repair option next to the normal installation, but it's still weird that it suddenly broke like this.
I'm not planning on participating in it and I cant get the challenges off my screen! It sticks out like a sore thumb and its making my game glitch like crazy! I cannot find a way to remove it, I've done everything to try to hide it. Why are we not allowed to opt out of it? Are we really going to be stuck with this for 6 weeks??

It’s the limited time only that really gets my goat. I’d honestly love to *earn* actual rewards by playing through scenarios instead of just aspiration points, but this limited-time event reward structure just makes me unnecessarily stressed out. Like babes I have two jobs and grad school to do, I have one day off a week to play your game… it’s not enough to say “we’ll give you a couple weeks extra” just let me do it whenever!!
Does anyone know how to delete the event. Ever since I claimed my first reward my game is broken. Going to build mode is fine, but switching back to live mode my game freezes, all my UI disappears and I need to force quit my game. This issue happens in every single one of my saves. Also, my event UI doesn't show up in the corner like everyone else, but I was able to claim a reward... But when I tried to claim, nothing showed up. So I just really want to delete the event and be able to play my game. All my saves are broken. Can't play at all.
I disagree that they should just give away after X amount of time. if they just gave it away that would defeat the purpose of the event. The point is to get people to play. It's essentially a battle pass, if you want the items.. you log on and do the missions like every other game.
Which is shy this model just doesnt work for this sort of game and its audience. Sims players are collectionist/completionists so its incredibly predatory and players will complain if they cant get every single item.

As someone who wasn’t able to play any of the last rewards system because I was moving and had no internet, I was extremely disappointed. As a dedicated sims fan, dare I say even collector…. My heart was broke knowing I’d never be able to have this new content. Haven’t played since.

I really didn't expect to see something breaking in ts4 this early, but I'm not super surprised 😂 Also, why are they doing this again? No one liked it when they did this the first time. I absolutely hate that the UI is *always* there. (I haven't tried it but I think if I reopened without being online it'd go away but I don't want to have to do that). I want the option to turn it on or off or like I thought it'd be an option to take the challenge but nope. Really annoying.

It's actually in the usersettings.ini file. Just transfer that file from your old laptop to the new and you should have them

This whole thing is confusing me because I just played for 20 minutes and had no pop ups until I checked the starting time-- which is in about two hours at 9am pacific time.

Oh my gosh that’s why I lost all my rewards from the last event? That’s sooo frustrating as a console player, like come on EA
The hair, the necklace and more doesn't show up wth as someone who uses a xbox this is just sad I need those back
Pass, they stuffed many Aussies (and other countries) around with the last login event by not starting it until the very last day of the not clearly indicated 'rollout'. So I'm doubly not at all interested in playing stupid sidequests or taking time out to login each day/week to obtain items that may or may not unlock.

Tried playing the rewards today and it's completely bugged. Seems a lot of people including myself on a PC Sims group on Facebook are all having issues not being able to complete the quests. When it tells you to plant snapdragons and Lily's after trying to plant inside and outside it doesn't clear the quest and you don't get the reward. Everyone has tried with and without mods. Restarting their games planting outside inside in planters and in the dirt and it doesn't work.
Once I realized that the preorder items that come with an up and coming expansion set is only available then and to never ever be released even well after the pack has come out is really telling on how these companies really think of you and what they truly value as a whole 🤔
The issue I'm having is that the tasks in the corner disappeared so I can't even partake in the event anymore.
I totally agree with you Matt they should give it to us either make it a lot or make it as like stuff pack or give it to us as delivery express there's a lot of people out there probably are so busy to even play and don't have time for just logg into their accounts for the rewards. That's a good idea right there for us who can't play all the times
They can't even do anything without turning broken or extremely buggy! Why some players are angry that there won't be The Sims 5?? You want Sims 5 done by the same incompetent developers? No we don't want that.

Right! Just give me the content like he said. After the events are over just give it. Not everyone is interested in challenges as gameplay. Logins were fine. Just launch the game and quit.
This is just EA's way of turning SIms 4 into a glorified mobile game.

The happy at home event... I have copies of the file in another folder, on an external drive, on Google drive and Drop Box. I think that I'm safe.
The Super Fruit was once a reward for an event. It's now base game. Same for several other items. So, not only making the reward items available after some time a good idea, it have already been done.
I got one of the objectives done, but the game refuses to recognize when I plant things. Soooooo.....
I lost all my excitement and I have low expectations for the new expansion pack. It seems like there are issues with everything and it never ends. It’s depressing

I started the quests today but "waiting for Ambrosia newsletter" would not tick off so I couldn't complete it.

Or if you're like me, my mods take over two weeks to be fully updated, and constant patches to fix broken stuff makes it take longer. Sometimes I end up going months between play sessions because of this.
mine wouldn't complete the "assistant to the grim reaper" guest ( planting a lily and a snapdragon flower) i made sure to plant them under a roof to keep in season and NOTHING! its just not registering?
Might aswell give the rewads out for free using the sdx drops like you said after a week or so of the event ending. The fact they are still gonna make more content on a broken and out dated base of this game for possibly 10 more years is diabolical
Thanks for the video, I was playing Sims 4 and idk if I had the EA App opened or not, I didn't receive any Grim Reaper Event or Task, nor any reward yet.
I need to save my game, close it, open the EA App and reopen my game.
I agree with you completely, they should really really really make the rewards inside a sim delivery and give it to us for free.
I'm playing Palia too, and I still couldn't see the Autumn Awakening Update because of the Grim Reaper Event, that didn't even appeared to me. I played from 12am (afternoon) till 5pm and I still didn't got any Event or reward.
I'm closing the game for now and I rlly wished I knew where I can download the CC files you always mention in your videos, because there might be items fron 2014 - 2022 that I don't own.
I agree, the rewards should come to everyone at some point. I really don't like these event-limited items.
i can already see this is only to prep us to have 'battle passes' in the game, this is how other games started. what better way to make more people buy stuff packs than with fomo? this sucks...

Well with the latest update on September 18, I lost the first rewards from June.. thank god Reddit has a post with the link where to get the file. This is crazy how you can lose them even when updating the game 😡
This is similar what we have in Warframe, you log in and you get a random daily reward on milestones you get special mods, weapons, items otherwise the game does not force you to do so basically once you start log in you will get items eventually. The worst iterations of the system when you skip a log in then all the stuff resets. This game is beyond repair and they do want to make a live service game from this.
EA never learns. They should have been making a sequel and try this model with the good examples. Actually making a game what they do not sell by piece by piece but actually finish it and then make additions for small payments. With that probably they could have been earn a better reputation also a better engine is giving more possibilities. I personally deleted the Sims 4 long ago so not really care about much.
I played Super Sim Challenge the whole day yesterday when the event suddenly started in the evening. I started doing the event. First, when I planted flowers they didn't check as done in the event window. Then, I couldn't even open the event menu to receive rewards (probably because of the ui mods I have).
My moms Sims on her pc just decided to stop working all together won't load bc it keeps saying
"there is a problem with your setup and error"

Since the last patch update my game will not play at all, it keeps saying error reinstall your game and I’ve uninstalled reinstalled over and over again and it still doesn’t work, I don’t know what to do at this point I am not computer savvy so I guess playing The sims 4 is over for me now😔🤷🏽♀️
I'm worried about the rewards for console players, while, every so ofter EA wants you to sign in, you don't always get that pop up. My concern is that I'll do the event, but not be able to claim my reward and every official thing I've read hasn't mentioned the console. To elaborate, I started playing sims early 2023 and EA initially had be log into my EA account to play. It's been well over a year and about a month ago the prompt returned. But when I played games like Dragonage the prompt always pops up, every time you go to play the game (dragonage is also EA it's an example to show I think the Sims EA login is broken on console)
Yea I don’t know how this is going to work I only had to log in the first time I played and haven’t been asked since and it’s been a year so I would love these rewards but I don’t know if we’re going to get them being on console (ps4 for me) 😭
Facts I agree with you! I lost all my happy at home rewards by accident I had to delete my game and re download it and I realized that I lost all of it and I was pissed because I logged in Everytime and claimed everything and I didn’t know you had to back it up I just thought like anything else it just stayed in your game like everything else… so I’m glad they are doing it now but I want my happy at home stuff!! I hope they just give it to all of us because that blew that!

I had no problems getting this week's rewards, but there was a requirement to ask ghosts about ambrosia via the seance table...if you don't have paranormal pack, then how the heck are you supposed to do that?!?
Hmm, what about the error that doesn't allow you to even play the game? I have this issue since the update that when I want to START the game I get this error message: "Wrong game configuration. Reinstal the game." I did that a few times, checked my graphic card and all and nothing. Mods removed, saves removed(copied), even tray files and still nothing. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm Win7(latest update) btw.

Is anyone else having a glitch where you don't have any traits in CAS? I don't have any traits in my game. The sim will have traits once you go into gameplay but I can't see them until then
Opens up The Sims 4 to claim reward. Finds out that the entire EA app has seemingly disappeared from my PC. Or at least cannot be located by shortcuts nor related things like The Sims 3... which I played last night... Manually finds the EA app's file folder and notices an absence of a relevant .exe file. The installation file has a repair option next to the normal installation, but it's still weird that it suddenly broke like this.
Just a thought but maybe your AV software was trying to do you a favour, by deciding the EA App was malware? 😁

My computer blue screened while I was in CAS and before that I had all of the previous rewards. Now all of them are gone. I dont know what to do.

I'm not planning on participating in it and I cant get the challenges off my screen! It sticks out like a sore thumb and its making my game glitch like crazy! I cannot find a way to remove it, I've done everything to try to hide it. Why are we not allowed to opt out of it? Are we really going to be stuck with this for 6 weeks??

So I need to check my game to see if I still have the rewards stuff from last time. Good to know lol. I didn't know people were having that issue. I had to start a new game after the last big mess they made before love struck. I just figured they would still be downloaded like any dlc. However, to this day I still have not been able to down load the reaper guitar. It tells me I have it but I so don't lol
I can't swap between my sims any more. Anyone else finding that? This was particularly annoying when I was stuck on an infant and the newborn was screaming to be fed! xx

I have a brand new Alienware computer and my game still continues to crash in build mode and cas!
Strange. My alienware computer only crashes while playing sims if I try to download a huge build filled with Cc content

i was really excited for the reward event because i figured they probably had learned from the first go round...that was until my household traveled back to their house (they loaded in at their friends apt) and i lost the prompts for the second quest. kid u not my eye just twitched after i typed that

I think instead of doing the rewards like this, they should just give all the items in an SDX drop
It’s the limited time only that really gets my goat. I’d honestly love to *earn* actual rewards by playing through scenarios instead of just aspiration points, but this limited-time event reward structure just makes me unnecessarily stressed out. Like babes I have two jobs and grad school to do, I have one day off a week to play your game… it’s not enough to say “we’ll give you a couple weeks extra” just let me do it whenever!!

Does anyone know how to delete the event. Ever since I claimed my first reward my game is broken. Going to build mode is fine, but switching back to live mode my game freezes, all my UI disappears and I need to force quit my game. This issue happens in every single one of my saves. Also, my event UI doesn't show up in the corner like everyone else, but I was able to claim a reward... But when I tried to claim, nothing showed up. So I just really want to delete the event and be able to play my game. All my saves are broken. Can't play at all.
I disagree that they should just give away after X amount of time. if they just gave it away that would defeat the purpose of the event. The point is to get people to play. It's essentially a battle pass, if you want the items.. you log on and do the missions like every other game.

Which is shy this model just doesnt work for this sort of game and its audience. Sims players are collectionist/completionists so its incredibly predatory and players will complain if they cant get every single item.

I wish they could give us this in a drop. I play on a laptop, the same one that I use for work, and for the last 2 months and for the next 2 months I can't play. I had to Uninstal the game so I had the space for the work I'm doing rn. Its unfair that because I'm poor and have to work i can't even get free stuff after the amount of money I put in this game

So... Idk if anyone else have this problem but when i enter build mode and then enter live mode The interface seems to be broken, I can't control my sims and I can't re-enter the build mode. Same thing happens when I go to main menu and then re-enter to my game again
As someone who wasn’t able to play any of the last rewards system because I was moving and had no internet, I was extremely disappointed. As a dedicated sims fan, dare I say even collector…. My heart was broke knowing I’d never be able to have this new content.

It's 6:58am, and I just happened to wake up for some reason, and one of the first things I see is this notification. I really didn't expect to see something breaking in ts4 this early, but I'm not super surprised 😂
Also, why are they doing this again? No one liked it when they did this the first time. This is such a stupid concept. I expect this with a mobile game that I can open on the bus or during much or whatever, not a whole ass game where I gotta turn on my laptop and load up this stupid game
I’m never interested in the login or event rewards and want a way to opt out of the event if there’s not already an opt out feature.
It just should never expire they just build up with more awards waiting for you after you complete the last on it just starts the next one so that there is still an incentive to play but no pressure if you miss some days everything is still there waiting when you long in next?
I absolutely hate that the UI is *always* there. (I haven't tried it but I think if I reopened without being online it'd go away but I don't want to have to do that). I want the option to turn it on or off or like I thought it'd be an option to take the challenge but nope. Really annoying.
agreed, everyone should get access to these no matter if they log in during the even or months after. it's just content you're denying to people already paying for an overpriced game. less they could do is throw some free stuff like this once in a while that's accessible to everyone regardless.
Have a new pc and noticed yesterday that I don't have the "Practice makes perfect" trait available any more. Which by the way is stupid that that's an issue

The whole point in rewards is to force people to play more. I doubt they would forgive players who missed awards even if its a bug that caused it.
