Welcome to Episode 36 of Talking Prisoner Cell Blok H. Hosts Ken Mulholland and Matt Batten sat down the talented Tottie Goldsmith who played inmate Gloria Payne in Prisoner. Tottie is an icon of Australian Tv and theatre and has appeared in many TV shows such as The Young Doctors, The Henderson Kids, GP, All together Now, Fire, Stingers, Blue Heelers, Neighbours The Secret life of Us, Underbelly and so many more. We spoke to Tottie about her life growing up and spoke about her Dad Brian Goldsmith the nightclub king of Australia. We touched on Totties school life, her famous Aunty Olivia Newton-John and what she thought about Grease and Tottie also lets us in on a little secret of hers about John Travolta. Tottie spoke briefly about her time on the Henderson Kids and how she got the part on Neighbours and what it was like to work with Margot Robbie and her thoughts on the recent axing of Neighbours. Tottie also appeared in I’m a Celebrity get me out of here and told us all about the show and what it was like to appear in a show like that. We then spoke about Tottie’s time on Prisoner and how she got the part of Gloria Payne and what her first day was like. Tottie has very fond memories of working with Annie Phelan who played Top Dog Myra Desmond. We discussed her band the Chantoozies, We also discussed the charity work Tottie does and her work with the Big Umbrella Group. Tottie was able to answer all fan questions. She looks amazing for almost 60. She clearly has such a zest for life and new experiences so maybe that's her secret to staying young looking...by being young at heart...another great interview.

Within These Walls in the UK was the first drama set in a prison but focused more on the staff of the prison and mostly the Governor.

This series is so great, such warm, kind, wonderful people associated with it. But what a truly gorgeous person Tottie is, in every sense of the word. I loved her comments on Neighbours and her regards for its fans and cast and crew. Matt looked like all his Christmases have come at once :))

Finally found some free time to catch up with the latest 'Talking Prisoner' episode and thanks Matt for asking my question. I was relatively unaware of just how much work Tottie has done over the years but, although the interview was shorter than some of the others, she was very giving and personally, like her aunt Olivia, she shines as such a beautiful person inside as well as on the outside (How can this woman be almost 60!!!). She was great in Prisoner, and although her stay was brief, she certainly made an impact. I can't really believe she didn't think she was great in the show but personally, I thought her portrayal was absolutely perfect. There was surely so much more to Gloria than we ever learned in her nine episodes.

@@TalkingPrisoner as much as I love both Bea Smith and Myra Desmond my favorite was Sandy Edwards. Despite such a brief stay she left her mark and I wish she had returned. The first episode of Prisoner I ever saw was Sandy and Kate's first episode so I'm partial to Sandy.

Lovely interview. I didn't know much about Tottie (apart from her name) but what a lovely lady who has such a zest for life. Looks fab too. In 1984 I was still in Junior school!
