I was an 80's bender beer league goalie. I had D&R's instead of Cooper pads. My point? None. Nice video.

They were the Brians of that generation!
Probably the heaviest leg pads ever created. Felt like having concrete attached to your legs. I especially hated the non-existent boot that took years to break in. Awful stuff.
That was great! From a 57 year old goalie who started out in 1980 you nailed it. Can’t believe you mentioned Northland!! They were great sticks! Still playing with my Cooper gear!! Great job on the video!

How to deal with the NHL cancelation
I had Cooper GP 95 pads GM 12 blocker and a GM 21 glove. Yes the arm pads back then were tiny compared to modern equipment, but you had more mobility. As for the "family jewels" only hit once. Most of the times shots to that area were stopped with the blocker and glove as most of us were reflex goalies.

Rockin' a Mylec Street Mask.....you just lost all your Street Cred......I have original homemade fiberglass masks, my buddies wore just for Street Hockey..
I played Ice hockey starting in 1979 at 16, and gradually collected goalie gear, in case, there was no goalie......and in open skate there was a pecking order, just to get in the net. By mid 80's, I was playing defense for one team, and starting goalie on another.
As I got older I was exclusively goalie, and finally hung up the pads in 2002.

Nice why Old (80 90) goalie pads are sooo expenisve. For this price u can buy whole cheapest goalie equipment.
I just watched a Bruins v whalers playoff game from 90 .
