I am new to the game, picking up WK to start, love this guide. Thank you so much! Was wondering if you wouldnt mind going over tactics for using him on horse a bit more, since beginners may not buy the felbeast to start.
He can do everything the fell beast can, just not quite as well. He can also easily hide behind your lines to escape shooting.
I have been playing just Mordor for 2 years, and the WK is probably my favourite hero ever. I love running him on horse along with kahmul on fell beast, and it is absurdly frustrating for opponents as nobody knows how to deal with wraiths, but I have to say, he has got to be one of the most difficult heroes to play for beginners or if you don't have experience with him
Youy are indeed cultured! Good taste ;) And yes I agree wraiths in general are harder to master for beginners but the only way I got better with them was to play them over and over haha or watch a Shadow Wraith vid ;)
The flail was a weapon that was effective even against the most formidable military force of the millennium, the armored cavalry. It could cause substantial damage even without breaking through the armor. It was the feathered mace, that was the most effective weapon to damage armor.
Always loved the look of the Flail in the movie but doesn't seem worth it in game beyond looking cool.
It is cool especially on the plastic sculpt we just got on him! But I agree...not worth it in game.

I'm trying to create a 470 point list. Was going to take Suladan with 18 haradrim,
I was then considering witch king for a second hero backed up by black numenoreans and a couple of orcs. giving me 35 models in total. at such a low points level is it worth taking the crown over extra bodies?
If i only have the points for one hero mounted who do you think i should mount?
I was thinking of using the witch king as my overall leader.

I will always say take the crown as it not only makes him a beat stick but that re-roll is sooo good! Amount of times i use one will to cast a spell as i know i have a re-roll in the back pocket saves me the points the crown costs in extra will over a game (If that makes sense)

Was wondering where in the rulebook does it state you can move 6" cast a spell then move again? New to the game and a friend of mine wants to see the rule before allowing it basically. Thank you and your content is great!

I recently saw some Ardacon lists that rag the Witch King with no crown on a Fell Beast. The logic presumably being that he'd get the three attacks on the charge anyway from the beast. What do you think of this build? Seems a great way to save a few points
No. Always take the crown. The abiity to reroll on cast and resists is way too strong to loose it :)
Rather give the WK 3-12-3 and crown at 650 Points to save some points. Never drop the crown. Also as a beginner, never take the Fell beast, always horse. You can end up in many bad situations with the fell beast, if not played correctly :)
