Thanks for posting all these videos. I am an athlete and I just had fai hip impingement with labral tear surgery on my right hip. I have to get it on the other side too later, but seeing this helps a lot.
I’ve put this injury off for almost 2 years.. I’m going in to talk about surgery. I’m 6 week post op for shoulder labrum surgery 😞. Hip, then shoulder labrum broke back to back. Life has been hell. I hope I don’t miss too much work. I’m glad to see she’s doing better!
don't wait any longer. I put up with issues for a year. I'm at week seven. everything is going great! only used a walker for about 1.5 weeks. I hardly used the pain pills they gave me. it felt like I was just sore. be sure yo have them go thur the front of your hip. it is said that recovery is much faster. good luck.
I had impingement had arthroscopy just over a year ago it failed I've had a total hip replacement I'm post op 8 weeks riding my bike just rode nearly 10miles hip still hurts but I push through it
@@UltraTrailSteven no I had cam and pincer impingement with a torn labrum the operation failed and the pain just got so bad new x-rays then showed I had arthritis which just over a year ago wasn't there
How are you doing now? My 17 yr old daughter just had this surgery 4 days ago and we are looking for encouragement….especially with hopefully returning to sport. Would love to hear if things are still going well for you. 😊
@@UltraTrailSteven She is a competitive dancer and has been dancing for 11 years....ballet, lyrical, jazz, modern, tap, and hip hop. She also used to play competitive soccer nationally, but after the injury she has unfortunately chosen to give up soccer completely as she is scared of re-injuring. At the time of her injury, she was doing Poms on the high school team, competitive dance at the studio, competitive soccer with her traveling team, and soccer on the high school team. Things weren't too overwhelming until coming back after Covid when all of the sports came back at the same time and overlapped. Then that is when the injury happened. Thank you for any feedback you can share.
You saying "Hopefully she won't laugh during the whole thing" was a set up LOL! LIMPY HAND! 🤣🤣 She got that gangsta lean when she's driving. I respect it haha!
Didn’t watch the pre videos on the labrum topic. Doc wants me to have one soon. Did you have PT prior to surgery? If so, what did it entail? I’m on the fence with mine due to severe back issues that requires me to do deep stretching throughout the day and if I can’t do these I’m afraid it will be very difficult with the back and the hip to do recovery PT for.
I did not do PT specifically for this but had been doing lots of strengthening. If you have the option it’d be helpful. Also, I’m not sure of your particular back issues but I had back pain often pre surgery and I’m feeling better from that post surgery. Feel free to ask any more questions
@@UltraTrailSteven Thanks for the reply! I’m having this same surgery in a few weeks. I found your videos encouraging - she made recovery look doable :)
Rest is hard but absolutely necessary. Stay awesome and take care you guys!
For sure! Gotta let the muscles repair and adapt!
Ciao Steven and Val, thanks for the update, don't give up.
Congrats for the 4K
Thank you, Domenico!
This gives me so much hope, I so desperately just want to walk literally any length without pain. I miss working out
It’s gonna be a long road, but my wife is doing really well! It will be worth it in then end!
Only watching for update on Val. You should give her a weekly segment. 😁
😂
I knew I was the favorite 🤣🤣
@@valankornhaus8353 oddly I only watched for Declan. Bring back Wednesday's with Declan!!
I got diagnosed with labral tear in my right hip as well. Thanks Val for sharing your journey. Means so much to me.

I wish they could just do both hips at the same time! Best of luck in your recovery!
Glad she’s feeling a lot better. Don’t over do it! I got scar tissue years ago because I over did it too soon. Caused pain for several years.
Yikes! Yeah she needs to reign it in a bit
Dude you deserve the rest day! Great to see and hear from Valan! You two are two cute together! Next car has to have two person seat memory, lol.
Gotta rest up for another good weekend of training! A programable memory seat would be awesome! Thanks man!
🤣 😂 You two. Val, it's great to see all of your hard work paying off! And you too, Steven!
Thank you, Kelly! She’s doing great!

Best of luck to your daughter on her recovery! Is she a gymnast by chance? Seems to be a common surgery for gymnasts. I will have my wife comment!
