We should be dealing with our politicians corruption ourselves, they work for US, the constituents. I would say, the crown should be looking into the dodgy dealings & offshore accounts of our politicians AND their cronies getting free rides. And the excuse that these tax avoiding corporations are providing the UK with jobs when all they've done to justify that excuse is to inflate the numbers of people needing jobs with low skilled, low paid workers from: the EU. There have been many politicians who have spoken up against it but their voices are not amplified as much as those who 'toe the line'
The problem is that they also control the media, which pushes any story which best serves them and will specifically undermine those who go against them.
The Times, Daily Mail and The Sun flood all levels of society, the 'upper', 'middle', 'working' class nature of those three publications ensures every 'class' of society is covered and sent the desired message in terms they understand.
I'm hoping that the new generation of internet savvy young people may be an opportunity to turn the tide, but until then we have to dig in and support these kinds of channels and help it get seen by as many people as possible.

Strip accountants, found to be circumventing the rules, of their charter, as well as banning them from any future work in financial services or related consultancy, and attach criminal offences with prison sentencing - see how many will continue to do so... It is quite possible, but probably unlikely - esp. under a tory government; as they will not act against the interests of their paymasters (big business and the super rich) - as this issue goes much further than just Russian money...

Another approach could be to campaign for fiscal reform along Georgist lines, where the burden of taxation is placed squarely on reclaiming the economic rent derived from the monopoly of land and other commonwealth resources (i.e a land value tax, but you could conceivably apply the concept to other forms of monopoly). That way you don't need to waste time and valuable resources tracing the dirty money, as you can simply bypass all that by taxing it straight where it is invested in parasitical economic activities, which you'll find is where most of it ends up, in either land banking, or rent seeking. Naturally the Tories would never have anything to do with such a notion, it being complete anathema to both them and their sponsors, but it could become the cornerstone of a new progressive reform movement, offering to take the proceeds from this tax and use it to significantly improve funding for the NHS and other areas of social spending, with the remainder being distributed evenly by way of a citizen's income. Anyway, just a thought 🙂

    • @jasonkillbourn
      @jasonkillbourn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@len2262 Well, that's why I did suggest it could form the basis of a new progressive reform movement. The reason being that the major sponsors of politics, and those who own most of the press, would find such a notion firmly against their interests, and consequently the mainstream parties wouldn't be of any use at all, so you'd certainly be looking at a grass roots affair. It's probably why they've been seeking to clamp down on protests, as we've reached a point where direct action is clearly going to be more effective than party politics.

The problem is, the majority in the West
obviously has no problem with the corporate-
    controlled US Empire's relentless empire-
    building agenda, with 800+ military
installations in 145+ countries, so far. This
makes it the main instigator of wars and
terrorism worldwide. Empires never settle for
    peaceful coexistence. Empires never settle
for anything less than total ownership and
control of the world's natural, human and
financial financial resources. 80% of all wars
since WW2 have been started by the US. No
surprise the majority are unaware of these
    facts because of 24/7 corporate-controlled
media brainwashing.80% of wars have been started by the us

I often wondered why the UK really wanted to quit Europe. One of the plausible reasons has always been to avoid the scrutiny and compulsory transparency of the financial and capital markets that the EU has in place. Britain was able to opt out of every major regulation, as if it had never been a member state ever, but staying out of these could only be achieved by pulling out completely and returning to the British success story called Managed Decline. Well, you've made your choice.

Interestingly, there is no annual fee for bond listings which is obviously good if you are issuing long term debt. These Oligarchs didn't get rich by throwing money away. Excellent film. Finally, since they've shown their real intentions they are getting locked (I do really hope they are) out of their wealth, that they robbed the country of.

However, there’s another side to this debate… THE RUSSIAN MAFIA - who are very active in many European countries - by & large are absent from the U.K. That’s precisely because THEIR WEALTH is spent & laundered in the U.K. & their bosses choose to mix with U.K. High Society, so they deliberately avoid drawing attention to themselves by NOT conducting their more violent & OVERT criminal activities in the U.K… following the long established principle of, “Don’t sh*t on your own doorstep.”
The most notable exception to this is probably the sex trafficking & people trafficking trade, which undoubtedly does flourish in the U.K., but - by its very nature - takes place out of sight of prying eyes… & also panders to the degenerate proclivities of the same titled & wealthy elites who profit form the corruption & Money Laundering… & therefore will not do anything to stamp out those vile & illicit activities either… 🤷🏻‍♂️
