Co. Donegal sisters welcome plans for old family home on Energia wind farm

Two County Donegal sisters who used to live in a cottage in the townland of Straness, which is now part of Energia’s Meenadreen Wind Farm in South Donegal, have welcomed the news that their old family home is to be partially renovated as a stop-off point on the Leghowney Loop trail. The Energia Renewables team have recorded an interview with Mary Dawson and Ailish O’Boyle, better known back in the day as the Quinn sisters, as they reminisce about growing up on the mountain with tales of mountain midwifery, magical Christmases and midges - lots and lots of midges.
