I just went through this with my 86 year old mom. She had unfinished quilts (wall hangings mostly) and she wanted to finish them all. So she kept them out where she could see them every day instead of hiding in a closet. With my help we were able to get them all finished in a fairly short amount of time. Of course she didn't have anything else going on so it was easier for her. It was obvious there were some that you got more excited about then others. I'd start with those. Get one or two finished then go on to the next. For me it would show some progress. Instead of 20 pieces nagging at me all the time. Takes the fun out of it. Sorry so long. Just do what makes you happy!

I too love spending time with you. I have/had???!! the same problem of keeping track. So what I did was pick 6 projects (large) ones that I placed a picture on a cork board in my craft room. This way its a reminder that I see daily, and I try to stitch at least one day on each of these projects. It helps when you see progress. I also got crazy and took pictures, made them tiny, and taped them to xerox paper and placed them in a binder. This way you know what you have and also anything that is in progress. Because they end up all over the place. Or use a storage container of any kind and place a large piece of cardboard as a divider and label them, Spring, Summer..etc., but also have a tab for kitted up projects. This way IF you ever get bored, you can check that spot to see if something is attracting you to stitch it. :) Lastly, you can use a calendar and mark down daily what you have stitched on. Again, its a good motivational tool. Hope that helps!! Have a blessed week.

We’re having mixed weather. Stephen King fog, clear skies, cool breeze, heat, terrarium like humidity then cool again. Kind of like my stitching collection 😅
Good morning, I've come to look forward to having coffee and maybe getting a stitch or two in wile I watch on Monday mornings. I use my calendar reminders to check in with myself about things I want to remember to do. It pops up whenever I've scheduled it and just gives me a nudge. I also keep lists on my phone for MANY different things but it could work for a list of wips too. I don't usually have more than 2 or 3 cross stitches at a time just for my own sanity (if there's any left...) LOL, Have a great day!

I feel like i know you, you are always so real. I can't stand having too many projects going, so i will keep working on one, and i can't start another one till I finish something. Doesn't always work. I do have a stitching calendar with lists of plans and wips. Happy birthday. Hope your time away is relaxing. What a big bag of stitching fun! I have been watching ever since you started and you do have several buckets, boxes, bags, containers of project to do! Spending time on making a list is time taken away from stitching. How about just writing each project on a post-it note and sticking those on a door. You could easily arrange those and it would be a visual representative of what you want to get done. When one it done, just remove the post-it and move to the next project. I take pictures of my quilting to do projects and hang them on a door and has helped me get stuff done.

I am thinking of making 2 baskets, one with started projects, one with kitted, that need:) to be started. Then put them in kind of an order (similar to your wolf Wednesday, magazine monday): every 1st and 2nd of the month to stitch winter theme, every 13 and 31 Halloween, every 4th patriotic, every 14 valentine's, every 25-26 Christmas, etc. Birthday/anniversary can be added too. Also do basket with smalls, Colorado crosstitcher calls it "a bag of possibilities". I have a sad tendency to drop an almost done project and squirrel to something new, so need to create a basket of those.

So many great charts! I would have difficulty figuring out how to organize so many projects. Maybe doing something like assignment stitching, a day or two to each one just to get a good start? Then reorganize by priority of completion. It’s a challenge for sure! Good luck and thanks for sharing your charts! Stuart is so cute!

Dessicants - the things that keep the moisture out...I just remembered!!! And the boxes are awesome AND could be considered by many to be presents on their own!!! Works for me, anyway! I just thought I'd comment abut the boxes (I love them, especially with the magnetic closures... )
I'm not new to Counted Cross stitch (being an ancient, creaky person myself), but this is the first time I've seen your channel (to which I have subscribed!!!)
OOOPS, I almost forgot. From some of the other floss tubes I've seen and from my own experience, once you put stitches in fabric, no matter how many, you have a WIP. Makes things really simple that way...and I am rather fond of being really simple..Off I go, into the wild blue yonder (or into my bedroom/craftroom) to do some stitching on a Tiny Modernist piece...

Hey, Sarah! You’re so courageous to share all your as brave intentions! What about just setting up a SMART Goals sheet (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time bound) with the emphasis on A & T? You could set quarterly goals or seasonal and long-term.
I use check off lists set quarterly. Love checking things off. And I don’t start anything new until it’s placed on the list.
I got one of the Clover needle carousel things after you showed it the first time. Game changer when you’re stitching one color for a long period like a border.
Thanks for the tips! I have yet to use the Clover. I need to pick a big stitch with one color (of which there are plenty 😂).
Oh my gosh...you had me in giggles! I thought I was the only one with so much on my wanna do list. My husband loves to make spread sheets, but also wouldn't have the patience for me to go through it all. I have Mark Well, & Spring Quaker in my pile, but have too many things started I fear. I started a stitching calendar in Jan. to log in all starts &wips each month. It has helped me keep track & note fabric & floss choices as well. Still have eyes bigger than my size though! Lol. We better live a long time!!!

Now I use fat quarter shops crossstitch journal and set projects that will be your focus project and work on this one at lest 7 days a montb and my other projects get 2 to 3 to 3 days thank again for sharing your time with the crossstitch community.

Stuart is such a pretty kitty, he certainly gives you much joy because you seem to smile every time you talk about him no matter what he does. I have a small start on Summer Quaker so I would like to join the SAL at the end of summer. I have plenty to keep me occupied until then. My efforts to organize and or clean my stitchy spot end before they really begin and feelings of being overwhelmed kick in so I go stitch until they go away. I wish us both luck in our endeavors.🪡🪡

I have the summer Quaker and want to start it. As for the bucket of starts, I would concentrate only on the ones with decent amounts of stitching. I have two kitties that I stitch with.

12 days of cataloging projects! This was a great video - The Monogamist Stitcher dedicates 7 days a month to her oldest WIP and then works on what she wants for the remainder of the month - seems like a good way to finish oldest to newest - have a relaxing time at camp - 🙂

I have Summer Quaker started; I started it last summer with a couple of folks. I've been working in the middle scene.. and it's a very relaxing stitch. I wanted to do that middle bit because the water is no joke, and I would struggle if I left it for last. I know you'll mention it again, but I'll make a note to pull it out and stitch on it on the last day of summer with you even though it's already started. 🪡👠

Hi Sarah! Love the rescued stitches. The Daydream Santa stitch is fabulous. I still have a few of those kits from back in the day to stitch up and a couple of them are WIPs to finish. My stitchy bug has been nonexistent ever since there was a fire in the next door apartment. My bedroom, bathroom and closet received a lot of water damage and, of course, the fumes and residue. We are still waiting for the cleaning crew to show up for our apartment to wash down the walls, clean the vents, and clean the floors with a special cleaner. I did mop the floors already with ammonia and water so that Walter could get down and play on them when he is here but we still have 2 huge HEPA cleaners running plus a massive dehumidifier that superheats the area, not what is needed in this mid-90s+ heat we are having. Beryl is providing us with 1 day of relief with temps in the high 80s, then it is supposed to be on and off rain and back to the high 90s. Sure hoping we can move and give them notice before they come in to do the remodeling as they are going to have to replace drywall, remove the flooring and subfloors, etc. Sure hope the stitchy bug returns soon. Always enjoy your floss tubes, bucket dives and goodie finds. Hope you have a blast at camp. Loving the pictures and stories of Stuart. Dawn in Texas

I just started Summer Breeze by Prairie Schooler (quite appropriate for this sizzling AZ summer) so we can be Prairie Schooler stitching buddies. I'm with you on the spread sheet thing and don't have much of a system for my stitching, just pick up what I'm in the mood for. Sorry, I'm not much help there. Ice cream for dinner sounds perfect and have a great time at camp ~ safe travels!

I, too, become overwhelmed by WIPS from time to time. I’ve found that I can make some headway in getting things finished by putting all away except for about 5 projects. That way, I don’t become bored with just one project, I can stitch what I’m in the mood for, but I’m able to make some good progress on them all. I stitch a day or two on one, then switch it out with another. Works for me anyway! 🥰
Great plan! I think this is what I’ve been doing with the ones scattered in our living room but I think I’ve been spinning my wheels and need to reassess 😊

I get the magnetic closure boxes from Hobby Lobby. Happy Belated Birthday. I need to do a B-day start (next month). A decision wheel for WIPS, Partially kitted, Fully kitted is the way to go. Silica Gel :) Keep us posted on that Clover loaded needle tool, I was thinking of getting one. Summer Quaker is so pretty.

No idea on my B-day start of a med. to lg. chart, as I just did a 4th of July start, and that took some thinking! I'll come to Maine and help you, although I think we would get lost in conversation and not accomplish anything in The Twelve days of Christmas. All kidding aside. Take a day pick 5 - 7 wip. Some that are close to being finished and some that need some real attention and love. Put all the others away so you are not overwhelmed by seeing them. (I find myself almost paralyzed when I have too much going on or out and then I don't get anything done because I wander aimlessly through my craft room not putting a stitch in). Stitch on these 5-7. if you finish 1 then you can pull another out. I also us August as my FFO month. Hope this helps. Have fun at the cabin! PS I love the picture of you sweet baby sunning and looking out the window.

Just love your videos. When my kiddos were little I taught them to sing the 12 days of Christmas. The Christmas Eve performance for the family was fun but very long lol. Yes, I have that app. I think I’ve mentioned it before. Unfortunately the only designer I’ve inventoried in it are my prairie schoolers. I so need a kick in the butt to add more😢❤😂

I like this better than my paper journal cause I always have my phone on me so I can journal to it. My paper one I update at the end of the month along with my calendar

Thank you! I can’t stand the creases in the fabric. I find them easier to iron out after a good soak and relaxed bath 😊
