Mardave / Kamtec Mini RC Racing BASIC / NEW RACER Set up (Project 27)

Bonsoir Racers ....
Project 27 has come about as i have a theory that " Slow is smooth and smooth is Fast".....or faster than you think , with this in mind i wanted to build a no frills or "hop up's" Mardave mini Racer (and the principle here also applies to Kamtec) ideal for a first time racer...(What I should have started with a 27 Turn motor) and just learned to drive and maintain the car over the first 4 months of racing rather than what I actually did which is spend all my time upside down or spinning out .......
A friend has asked to come and have a go so i volunteered to build him what i think he should start with ....
But first i needed to race it as a shake down and see if what i thought proves to be right .....Lets see how i get on .....
p.s. A "driving" Goal here with our hobby and the class we run is to have FUN!! something we can loose sight of from time to time.

That's what I like about the Mardave platform, it's simple, with everyone running near enough the same spec, the skill is in the driver, not the tech.
Was around the racing scene in the mid 90s, it was Mardave minis back then, the design has changed slightly, at least with the steering set up, I remember it being a very thick brace holding the front castors, now they're wishbones, looking through my 30 year old scrapbook with an exploded diagram of the 1980s Mardave mini confirms the change.
Very good video, makes me want to get one to hoon around indoors 😆

Brilliant video. Ive just bought a kamtec mini and going to start racing at my local club for the first time. Very helpful. Never raced before so im a total newbie

its GRP but it got the twin pod suspension.
