I've just recently started using my cast irons. I've always been afraid to mess them up. Watching you I've gained the confidence to finally start using mine and absolutely love them.
About the only two things to not do, don’t soak it in a sink of water, they easily clean out with a stainless steel scratcher and water and avoid extreme temperature change, meaning don’t take a pan from the stove and set it outside in freezing temps to cool something…..other than that they are pretty indestructible ❤ Happy cooking !

Everything looked great! My mom use to grinder leftover roast & add mayo & sweet relish to it for sandwiches. We all loved it & for camping she would cook a whole roast to grind up. Because of a power outage while we were at church we came home to Sunday dinner not fully cooked, leaving me with one of our hens to bake and use today. I had watched your video and took this challenge. We're doing the pantry challenge too! So I made this recipe. I used the drippings/broth from baking the chicken as my liquid to make the sauce which made it so rich. We too have hogs and used our bacon for the top. Thanks for the wonderful idea! I've been wanting to get back to making my own pasta(something that I gave up when or family free to 13 children!) And was delighted with your recipe. It is a much better recipe than mine was. It used to be an ordeal with the pasta cutter but was super easy by hand like you did. It all came out great. It's a super comfort meal on a cold, damp winter night here in the mountains of east Tennessee. I wanted to put a picture here but can't seem to. Just my know it was a HIT! ❤

Wow that pan is a beauty! Never have seen one like that in that size until I saw you bake in it. I have never knew you can bake frozen chicken. Thats one way in case you forgot to thaw out your chicken. Thanks for this tip!
