A guy who had so many extra marital affairs and undisclosed children definitely knows how to factory reset his phone.

This country has a terrible problem with holding the rich and powerful to account. Sweeping change in how we deal with prosecutions has to be brought about. This despicable excuse for a man will walk away from this and set up his children to tread in his footsteps. We’ll never be free of Johnsonism until we hold men like this to account with jail time, fines and disqualification from holding public office.
"It's a big club, and you're not in it" George Carlin.
These mugs in the Media all played along with it.. they forget that some of us remember their propaganda they were told to spew
End of the day he accepted responsibility even decisions that he didn't make (eat out scheme). Also a valid point made about population density.

Bingo!.......and they still are.

Yes you are correct while they want to control us working middle class people with large fines
Notice as usual it isnt a real apology at all… he says he is « sorry for the loss and suffering… » but not for his utter contempt in which he held all of us.
He has zero empathy for anyone ....which puts him among psychopaths, narcissists....those creatures stripped of their humanity.....
How can he be sorry for what he still continues to display?
Indeed, pure non apology
It's always "I'm sorry for your feelings" or something along that line.
A version of 'I'm sorry if...'

'Let the bodies pile high' Remember that one Boris? Your apology comes from nothing and means even less!

When they were using Whatsapp messages, unless they deliberately switched off the auto back-up option, the App would automatically save a copy of any messages to a central server. That's exactly why Ministers should not be allowed use their personal phones. On Departmental issued smartphones the auto back-up function cannot be switched off and all messages would be saved to a secure governmental server.

He lies when he opens his mouth.
I've always thought that when he does the smirk, it should be called out. It would be a legitimate challenge. Something along the lines:
"This is a very serious matter, and you appear to be grinning. Why?"
I saw this the very first time he came to prominence and the fact that he was chosen by a party as their leader was the obvious final straw.
Yeah that slight smirk always gives it away

I remember him standing up in parliament and taking full responsibility before, yet he did not resign and no consequences were imposed on him. PARLIAMENTARY PRIVILEGE protects him from ever being held accountable for anything he says while he's in there and its in session. and that unspeakably wicked psychopath knows that all too well.

This is what happens under right wing, libertarian governments.
There is a couldn’t careless attitude to everything except money and training, planning, and preparedness are sacrificed to save pennies. The leaders are not at the wheel. They are disengaged, disinterested and very much think it is up to everyone else to make sure things are done properly.

If the purpose of the Enquiry is to decide what to do next then the answer is obvious - get rid of this incompetent crooked Government
and ferry it to prison for its 13 year unbroken stretch of 'crimes against humanity'
Accepts full responsibility whilst knowing there will not be any such thing.
One thing's for sure: whatever the outcome of this inquiry, it'll never amount to anything other than a finger-wagging exercise. No criminal proceedings will develop from its findings. And if those findings are too severe, then a hatchet job will be done upon the inquiry itself and the partiality of its chair held to question...
the actions of elected people while carrying out government business/policies are protected from prosecution.
that's one reason why no tory has been arrested, let alone jailed for life, for the approx 400,000 deaths that are calculated/estimated* to have resulted from tory cuts to just the 'health and social care' budget since 2011.

In times past people like Johnson would have been called a « cad » (OED: The opposite of gentlemanly). The problem we have is that not only do many believe his lies, many others see it as a justification for their behaviour. It is a sad reflection on our society.
they also have zero understanding of how politics, economics and the media operate or why/how they all impact every aspect of their lives, every day.
This leads some/many to see him as 'one of the boys' rather than a pathological conman and serial fraud whose used some of the many powerful, unearned privileges (automatically bestowed upon him at birth through Britain's preposterous 'class' system) to shove himself into a position for which he knew he was always hopelessly incapable of carrying out with any degree of competence, service, duty etc. So, they fail to see that he's absolutely responsible for countless thousands of deaths....and could not care less about it. Boris survived, the dead were clearly not 'special' like him, so, it's their fault, not his !

BJ - Doesn't know what a 'Factory Reset' is! Liar.
Why did Jimmy Saville just spring into my head?
A white haired serial liar with his hands in lots of pockets. Not a clue 😂
Yep, see what your getting at.
Why don’t they get computer/phone technical experts in to give the inquiry accurate information as to how the WhatsApp messages disappeared.
The messages are stored in the cloud (online) not in the phone.
How can they possibly disappear? unless they have been deleted on purpose.
Surely a 10 year old child could have recovered the messages.
WhatsApp is encrypted so unless someone had specifically turned on back up then they won't be in the cloud. However if they had been backed up that could easily be deleted.
The 'factory reset' babbling part was the verbal equivalent of OJ Simpson guiltily trying on a glove.
Don’t give Boris ideas! In a couple of years he will come out with a book entitled “How I would have killed all these people through my decisions but didn’t because I’m totally innocent” 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
He is disgraceful. He has no respect for any of us!
If there was a factory reset in Jan 2020 that deletes the messages before. You can’t do a reset and delete messages before they have been sent.
Saying it was then installed again in Jun 2020 would mean the last 5 months WhatsApp wasn’t installed which is false as there are 5,000 missing messages
Tears of joy, he is happy with himself.

Sat and watched his performance all day and I really believe he has taken acting lessons. He would win the world championship in lying.
He was coached 100 per cent.
The problem is that the current inquiry is pointless. Nothing more than posturing. By not discussing if the action taken was necessary, they are affirming that it was - and without question! It is then just a case of discussing if the action was hard and fast enough. The fake slapping of a few wrists for causing the deaths of thousands of people - and some poor amateur acting by the Oxford Boys. Many of us knew all that was happening was unnecessary and extremely contradictory - and definitely not following real science - or saving anyone's gran. Having worked in pharmaceutical research and on hospital emergency action plans, I knew it was not following any protocol. When do we get a proper inquiry where these clowns can face trial?
Bojo has never grown up since he was the class clown at Eton.
Besides bad hair Trump and Johnson have one thing in common they both are making a mockery of their respective countries legal systems.
elected government reps are protected from criminal prosecution for any damage/injury/death resulting from the policies they introduced. the house must vote to enact the policy which means over 300 MPs would be liable. most likely civil prosecution too.
I worked in a nursing home during the lock downs. It really irritates us care workers when people say this was nothing more than a flu. We lost 9 patients in 2 weeks when the virus got in our home. The death rate was normally 2-3 a year in that care home. It was a horrible time and so heartbreaking.
