Awesome video! I speak English fluently - I studied English morphology, syntax.. at university but I would not be able to explain any case in Czech - my mother tongue :) You´re both great!
I believe that using different cases for situation where you have 1 or 2,3,4 or 5+ of something is common in most Slavic languages. It's most likely something that came from Proto-Slavic that made sense back than, but we don't quite understand any more.
This was a great video and it inspired me to buy the book. There were only two left in stock. Is it bad that I am sort of excited to receive an expensive grammar book? #czechgrammarnerd

Řekl bych, že genitiv u počítání má spíš jakýsi mentální důvod / předobraz. 1 pivo = to zvládnu 2 -4 piva = je toho víc, ale pořád to zvládnu 5 piv = to už nezvládnu, to už je moc. To samé s rohlíky, s čímkoliv.
