Fun tip to keep hot water on hand. When running your back up power, plug in a crock pot on low to heat water & store in a thermos or two to keep hot when your not running back up power (which doesn’t need to be run 24/7). Thanks, Dale!
Glad you showed the French Press for coffee making, it’s my everyday, all you need is boiled water ! Got plenty of gardening tools and seeds for my garden ho ! 👍

The Military is very serious about protecting the feet. You don't need jungle rot\fungas on your feet which will cripple you. Add foot powder, fungal cream. 2. Gallons of Clorax. @EdBeaudry it's powdered bleach, get it without coloring, and don't breathe when handling, wear a mask, Liquid bleach looses concentration, pool shock doesn't, pool shock could be used even in cistern water.
You're on point i have most of this and rest on my list , I've only recently started my totes after years of thinking about it and you gave me some reminders. Thanks and subscribed 👍
I'm always stressing over water storage and purification and fire prep. Those 2 things never seem to be on the minds of my family/group and I am forever having to remind them.
hand tools for basic repair, even if you rent you may not always have a person to call to fix a messed up door hinge or leaky faucet. plus home repair books
Same here, total lack of space. I made my tool kit mainly based on carpentry with a few plumbing and electrical bits added. No vehicle, so that saved a ton of tools needed 🙂
Good stuff. Just went on a hike with bad shoes. 👎 Rocks, hills, forest traverse in my area definitely needs a solid shoe! Don't forget to factor in the weight of a pack with water. Add some hills to your cardio!

@martinj2843 Since I'm screwed, how much water 💧 do you store?...I have 10,000 gallons as backup, I'm on rain water, haven't used municipal water in over 6 years lol...I have camping gear for entertainment, not emergencies.
@@MosaicHomestead I never said you was screwed……I said you would be screwed without them, totally different, I assume you have them because you told us.
@martinj2843 anyone that loves the outdoors is going to have camping equipment, but not necessarily for Emergencies, camping supplies are for very limited use, why would anyone depend on stuff like that for Emergencies.
@rachel3682 Rain barrels are as bad as camping gear for prepping, I'm 100% on rain water, I don't use municipal water, those barrels only store about 55 gallons, that's not enough water, as backup I keep 10,000 gallons, I do this to go through the dry season.
Forgot which youtuber said it, an emergency whether bugging out or getting home is considered "inconvenient or unintentional Camping" So true, much of the stuff you need can be found in camping gear.
I have a box of puzzle and colouring books, along with pencils and rubbers. Once I have finished a puzzle book, I can rub out my answers and pass them on. Just simply things to keep the grey matter working 🙂

Work on getting your normal monthly storage up that you use all the time anyway. Then work on safety bc you will use most of that stuff on a normal use anyway. Work on long term food storage of items you do use here or there like canned meats like tuna and other stuff. Then work on some stored water may have a water line break and have your water turned off. Work on your car storage extra blankets, window breaker, spare long term food in the trunk, other items people should have in their cars but done. Then work on if the power in your area goes out which happens often part of my town is out of power currently. Once you do all this then u can work on other stuff but this is all basic stuff wveryone should have already but done.
None of us can afford all we need. If you're on Social Security do things like buying tuna in oil when it's on sale. Free calories from the oil, and you don't need to add butter to your tuna mac. Prioritize as well. The major trauma dressings? If you're of a certain age then the percentage on these saving your life goes way down. Your health is a huge factor here, but if you know you're not likely to survive a major injury buy things to prevent that injury instead, like fire extinguishers. Personally I love the ABC type. They're basically just giant squirt guns you you can fill up at home with water from the tap, and pressurize using a bike pump. Perfect for any kind of wood fire. Another thing is always have some potatoes on hand,. They're super easy to cook, but also stupidly easy to plant. Literally just fill an old tire with dirt, plant a single potato in it in the spring, and come back in a couple of months to many more potatoes. 5 lbs can easily become 50 lbs without much work. There are a ton of resources out there and it doesn't have to be difficult or expensive. It can even be fun.
@Jean.A.squirrel I would be in shorts and flip flops cooking in my kitchen like any other day, winter doesn't exist in the tropics, and my stove is propane lol

I'm told old and I'm disabled to bug out. But if I have someone to help me out i do have playing cards in my kids backpack.
